I bought the cowboy CB3200. About the same price, but the bobbins are as big as they are for bigger machines (like the class 3&4 Cobra). I also like the sit down table better than the stand up. I also got a better price on the Cowboy. I talked to leather machine co, but the shipping is the real killer. I drove 1.5 hours to get my machine. Cowboy offers lots of accessory options too. Pound for pound, the Cowboy was a better buy IMO. Cowboy also has it's own line of thread, that IMO, is priced quite reasonable. I thought LMC was pretty expensive for thread. Not really a many good places to buy the heavy thread for these machines at a good price. Tandy and Weaver are pretty high priced on the thread for anything over 69/138. Once you get to 207+, it gets kinda expensive. I love my machine too. I also own a leatherwork from Sailrite. Like that machine too for lighter flat stuff. Nothing wrong with hand sewing. I just don't want to waste all of my time sewing most projects. I sewed two belts and that was enough for me. Huge time suck sewing them. My opinion is, if you can afford a machine and can justify buying one, do it. I would also recommend a cylinder arm over a flat bed every day of the week and twice on Sunday. There isn't much of anything that a cylinder arm can't do but a flatbed gets limited quick.

Thanks for taking time to respond with good information. Yeah the shipping can be a killer. I was fortunate to be able to time getting my machine with one of the shows that they attended. So no shipping and the discount ed $100. The thread does seem expensive…. I have purchased at a show and they discount when you purchase 5 rolls. It has been 5 for $100. It’s probably my hang up on the hand sewing of belts. I’ve gotten pretty fast and actually enjoy the process
@jamesw.3491
@jamesw.3491 2 күн бұрын
@@InMyBusyLittleShop the rolls I saw from lmc were 8 oz spools. If the ones you bought were a pound, that's a screaming deal. They are 28 bucks a one pound spool for cowboy poly thread.

Tossing those chunks of firewood reminded me of a time I was helping Dad with firewood back on the farm when I was pretty young. We were loading wood that we had cut up into the bed of his pickup. He was in the truck, was backing it up to reach more wood, I was behind the truck tossing chunks in. He had his right arm on the back of the seat, cranked around looking out the back window while backing. I tossed a chunk of wood, misjudged the distance and speed he was backing. It hit the edge of the back window and while he was looking through the window the window filled with thousands of cracks. Luckily it was safety glass and stayed in place. From what I remember, Dad didn’t make a big deal out of it, shook his head and said mistakes happen.

I would have to agree with the wood slivers getting underneath the ram plate since you are splitting and forcing it to load the trailer. That would be my guess since you didn’t have any trouble with it until it was a lot of wood pushing into the trailer. Nice looking shirt

One issue can be that wood slivers get under the ram plate. I had a different brand that would return the ram (had a detent on the return) and if you had a bunch of wood junk under the ram it would trip the detent and stop the ram from returning on it's own. All I had to do was keep the track the ram rides in clean. You want to anyway or that stuff will get compacted in there and be extremely hard to clean out. It gets compressed in there.

Chris actually has a video on the WR channel of him adjusting the detents, and how to set them from a few years ago. Its not uncommon for them to get themselves out of wack from time to time, due to expansion and contraction, needing minor adjustments on any brand of machinery* Hope that helps🤜🤛✌️
