Is it true that the 6.5 x 55 is still one of the most popular moose cartridges over there?

+1HeavyHitr 6.5 x 55 Mauser is legal and is used by a number of hunters on moose, shot placement is essential on larger specimens however. 6.5 x 55 Krag is not legal on any big game in norway.

Is there a minimum bullet weight requirement? Over here in Canada the minimum for Moose is a 243 Winchester. I used the 6.5 swede this year on my moose with a 140 grain nosler AB with no problem at all...250m broadside taking out both lungs. No bullet recovered. Love the swede.

Min. 9 gram weight and 2700 joule @ 100 meters, bullet over 10 gram must reach 2200 joule @ 100m, The Krag would be over its pressure limit to reach this level of energy. I own a 700 in 243 but wouldnt dream of using it on moose, however excellent on deer and roe-deer. For moose I have a customized M98 in 9.3 x 62 wich is a very popular caliber for moose in Scandinavia.
