My OCD was triggered by the fact that the chassis wasn't completely submerged in the evaporust ... why go that far and then settle for flipping the chassis instead just order one or two more vats of the evaporust

Hi Ed, can you please, please go back to your friends 1962 Alvis TD21 and do some work on it. These are great cars, and if you check utube, no one is covering the repair and up keep of these cars, you will corner the market! You will also help owners look after their cars and keep them going. You could also do some more work on Morgan’s, another car which has no one covering them as a British classic. I own a 1985 4/4 4 Seater, and love it.

I don't want to point out the obvious but you could have saved days by displacing the liquid in the pool with something that would be unaffected by the liquid, thus raising the level to fully submerse the chasis

Some expanding foam and plastic sheet make a formed tub around the chassis 🤷🏻‍♂️

A 1:7 molasses to water mix would have done a good job at a fraction of the cost (around £210), but it would take a couple of weeks.

A virtually new (very slightly used) Range Rover could easily have been purchased from the Northern areas of Pakistan for around £ 6000 to £ 7000. The step ladder chassis of your decrepit Range Rover would have remained the same whilst the new body and all parts including tyres (everything except the original chassis) could have been replaced within 2 days.
