He was never a strong technician, certainly not by todays standards, but he was always enthusiastic and sincere in his interpretations even if his tone left something to be desired.

Great musician but bad analogy regarding microwave ovens. Microwave cooking is perhaps the most unhealthy to cook food.

Ok this was superb. I saw him once when he was playing in my home town. I will never forget that sound he created. It was so so special, and I had never heard anything like it. He was the most beautiful sounding pianist I have ever heard live, and I have seen Perahia, Brendel, Van Cliburn, Andre Watts, Alexis Weisenberg, Alicia De La Rocha, etc, and Sebok had a magical sound. Thanks for sharing.

How disrespectful of your viewers is it to present long quotes of Previn speaking in German without offering subtitles?!

Sorry. I discovered that subtitles are available. You access them by clicking on the rectangular box with the cc on it. ( it is on the line that appears under the video picture - good luck)

The language used in the subtitles is one, however , never spoken by anyone on this planet.

He has the best feel of any living jazz pianist in my opinion. He also makes sure to keep things melodic at all times and doesn't seem to ever show off skills without melody

La técnica y las ideas musicales de Brad Mehldau son increíbles. La mayoría de las veces parecen 2 pianistas. Sólo pocas veces uno solo.

people forget that George Duke was Joe Zawinul's replacement in cannonball's band. Love Joe, but When George arrived, he brought a certain pocket with him that made every post-Zawinul Cannonball album so damned FUNKY! Then he went from there to Zappa, then from Zappa to solo, then from solo to Billy Cobham's band with Alphonso Johnson and John Scofield.

Not too familiar with him, but has a unique harmonic language, that’s characteristic of a good artist. He tends to like a lot of pedal point harmony and ostinato like figures in some of his pieces.
