We are a southern hemisphere rugby podcast looking to do some colabs for game reviews with rugby podcasts from the Northern Hemisphere when our teams play each other during the Autumn International Season. We have other rugby podcasters from England and Wales lined up, but we would like someone who talks about scottish rugby to join the game reviews when our teams from down this way play Scotland I'ts fun to have balanced opinions if that's possible and some good banter, so it's a fun experience discussing the game we love. I was at Murrayfield on Saturday and like Johnny, at no time did I think England would win this game. Indeed, from the English players facial and body language you could detect real fear amongst England’s defenders on Saturday. I actually deliberately looked at their faces during a counter attack from Scotland and that fear was actually palpable.

Just finished listening to this podcast. This is fantastic content. Just wanted to let you guys know.

You done more in one minute to promote the game than any tv or radio channel has ever done. Lack of explore is a serious issue.

Didn’t watch the game live so knew the result when I watched it. The reason I am saying that is that I am not on such a downer as some of the Scottish pundits were after the game. Scotland needed to play at their best to win. They knew they had to win by 8 points so that put a different perspective on the game. Ireland won the collisions and their defence was awesome but they also have an edge their game that we don’t. When you are on a losing run against a team like we are then it leaves psychological scars. Don’ know why Watson wasn’t playing as he would have given us go forward. I don’t think we played that badly but the game was out of sight by halftime. The referee didn’t help…the first try shouldn’t have counted due to obstruction, the Henderson try had a Gibson Park forward pass in the run up to it, there was no clear grounding of the Keenan 2nd try with 3 Scottish players trying to hold him up. The ref should have gone to the TMO for that…all that being said we couldn’t match the Irish boys physicality. I don’t think Scotland embarrassed themselves, they just lost to a brilliant Irish team who I hope go on to win the RWC 👍

So now it's the SH ref at fault... funny it was a NH ref in Murrayfield in March & look how that turned out. No analysis of Scotland's misdemeanors, only Ireland "cheated" apparently.

Problem for Scotland is they DID turn up and DID fire their shots. It mattered not a jot.

Come on men, it's time for Scotland to look at themselves. You're starting to sound like SA fans, complaining about the referee. Ireland are far better atm and they got there by concentrating on themselves.

It wouldn’t have mattered if Scotland had taken 3 points or got a 50/22 or done anything else. They were drilled. It could have been a 50 pointer if Ireland hadn’t taken their foot off the gas and subbed off half the team half way through. The draw was a botch and on the other side of the draw Scotland definitely would have made the QF and possibly the semi but there’s nothing that can be done about that now. Ireland, SA, NZ and France are all a good bit ahead of Scotland and the rest. Scotlands youth setup is the major problem going forward. It is in a grim place.

What a bunch of clowns. I listened to their last podcast and they were sneering at Ireland’s bid to host this World Cup and were enjoying the fact Scotland voted against it. Then they claimed Ireland beating SA was a fluke. Time to grow up and take that huge chip off your shoulders boys.

I suppose when you have your own podcast you can give whatever opinions you want no matter how delusional. I see some laughter about casement park and stadiums. There were a number of GAA stadiums committed to the 2023 bid that these guys have never heard of that would have been ready to go. Running a World Cup on craic and good intentions or whatever they said here. Fairly pathetic. In any case it doesn’t matter. That ship has sailed and we are in France now and Scotland were simply obliterated yesterday on the field. Not even in the same league. Don’t invest in your grassroots and you have no team to put in a stadium. Scotland U20 lost 82-7 I think to Ireland back in March on irelands way to a second consecutive U20 grand slam. Scotland didn’t even make the U20 WC tournament. They had to play in the second tier tournament which they also didn’t win. Ireland made the final. Darcy Graham top 3 wingers in the world. Eh no. He is really good and is up there but more delusion. Referees at fault for Scotland continually turning the ball over. Ok whatever you say. No proper test because they fluked their way past SA. More delusion, and bitterness for good measure. Irish front row weakness? Bizarre take on things. Not one Scotland player would make the Ireland starting XV. Look forward to some more delusion in next weeks review of the massacre.

Let me give you all the tl;dr of this podcast. -Darcy Graham is one of top 3 wingers on earth (lol). -A dig at Ireland's infrastructure for hosting the world cup including bringing up the Casement Park fiasco. -Having a laugh at the SRU not voting for Ireland's bid, -Arguing Ireland fluked their win over South Africa. -Questioning how Ireland's front view will deal with Scotland's as if Scotland's front view is world class like the Boks. God I can't wait for Saturday where we put them back in their box (again).

Great pod as always. On the bunker I largely agree. Living over here in ‘Merica the NFL have the “bunker” equivalent nailed. They have a dedicated team that deal with reviews and when a decision is made it is announced by the ref with a reason to the whole crowd. They have enough people to cover multiple games going on at the same time and because they use the same people you get consistency, or at least a very high degree of consistency. And it’s fast.

This show has a quality of the Scotland in Japan 2019, where the Scots where threatening law suits if that game against Japan was not played. Eventually they got what they wanted and it did not work out very well. Scotland may get all their favorite permutations this weekend. In the end they still have to go out and deliver. On the other hand one does understand that they have to keep the dream going. But these guys are also fun too
