The problem with electrical return pallets, is the majority will be returned because they're faulty or just not working. It would worry me as you'd never know the true safety of what your reselling without having it pat tested.

I worked for Selfridges in London and I think John Lewis has the same policy that the customer is always right. Well it was when I worked there quite a few years ago. We were told that the customers happiness is paramount and they would always accept any returns. There was a story that a guy returned a pair of shoes after wearing them for 10 years and he still got a refund because he thought they would last longer 😂

To be honest, I wouldn't trust that the auctioneers haven't already been through these returns and have removed anything of real value first. Why wouldn't you do that if they were them? It's an auction remember, no guarantees or refunds. Caveat Emptor!

As a reseller I will say it's one of those things that sounds easy, it really isn't, it's very easy to lose money if you don't know your product. To make real money you need to be prepared to sit with products for a year or longer.

Did either pallet contain two short planks?

Rule of thumb, take the £5k, if it’s working and used you can expect to sell it for about 50% sometimes more sometimes less but you’ll have fees etc, so max a decent pallet would be worth is around £2.5k before selling fees. However we know some will be broken and mostly worthless, however parts can bring money. Some will be new, but you are unlikely to get John Lewis prices for selling brand new items on eBay and market place. You probably won’t lose all your money, but you’ll lose a large chunk!

John Lewis should be ashamed and we shouldn’t encourage this poor practice by buying all this rubbish. It also means they don’t have to pay for recycling and responsible disposal of used items. I think she has been a bit naive to think all returns would be in brand new condition. If they were returned in new condition, they would have been resold either as new or at a discount in stores. It was outrageous what she paid for such dirty and damaged goods! She should be able to return anything that doesn’t work!! Not a good advert for the company she bought it from!!!

With about 30 seconds of research, you would know not to buy any returns from John Lewis. Many of their items can be returned under their five year warranty. You could literally be buying something that's almost 5 years old. If you want returns, get stuff from retailers who only have a 7/14/30 day return policy and no extended warranty.

Just watching this after seeing your other solo vlog about the facial, and I always wonder what it ‘free’ when you stay at a London hotel. Obviously you get to use the shampoo and conditioner… but do you take them 😂 I mean, are other people checking in and using them?
