since then, they annouced new apartment buildings on glenwood ave. i am excited about all the building, but it will take 1 or 2 years. and the exchange in north hills is going to be like 2030

I need to check it out for the 2025 move. Not sure about location, prefer inside the beltline, but open to small cities with shop, eat, open carry (alcohol), trails, and side walks.

Wendell is definitely worth checking out. You could also check out Garner if you want to be almost inside the belt line.

Is Cary developing it's own inner city by making there downtown grow that's what I hope is happening right now Cary just feels like an extension of Raleigh im hoping Cary builds it's own inner city is that's whats going on with the doentown

They are expanding the downtown outwards, but it still has that small town feeling. Most of the housing will sit around the downtown, unlike bigger cities where housing and downtown are all together. Hope this helps!

I live in Wake Forest....it has never taken me an hour to get to downtown Raleigh lol. I can even get to Garner which is south of Raleigh in 40 min on average.

From the center of the Village District to the Capitol building downtown, it's actually less than a 2 mile walk. As someone who lives in between the two places, I can vouch for its walkability. In particular if you are in Forest Park, you can walk to the Village District, downtown, NC State, and even Pullen and Dix parks in less than a mile. I'm a condo dweller so the north end of Glenwood South puts me in a perfect position for car-light living. My weekly number of miles driven is usually less than the daily number of miles of the typical Raleigh residents. I'll also say that the density of housing that persists from Glenwood South to the Village District affords the foot traffic required for retail, services and hospitality to thrive. If multifamily ownership or rentals isn't your thing, there are pockets of single family home options within and immediately surrounding these areas, but it gonna cost you $$$$.

We are NOT a suburb of Raleigh. And we are TIRED of people moving here!! Tell those Yankees to go back to where they came from! We're sick of progress! Our forests are being cut down, and everything that was wonderful about Wake Forest is being built away or replaced by people who aren't from here. DON'T ENCOURAGE MORE OF THEM!

I really wish Iron Works was more walkable from 5 points. The issue is that there is no crosswalk on Atlantic Ave. A tunnel or walking bridge would be amazing!
