Early corn burned up, be lucky to make 50-75 BPA. Later planted I still have some hope for. No rains June through mid July. Finally getting rain now

Screws in the ridge, definitely. The flats have water runoff and will eventually leak (especially if any screws are missing).

The only time you put screws in the flat is if its trimdeck and its for pure aesthetic purpose. If you have even half a brain and the ability to use common sense always ridge

Really enjoyed this video. Straw is definitely a young man’s game. We used to put 2-3K a year for a neighbor. You’ll really appreciate the accumulator when you get one. We had 2 different ones, Hoeschler and Agway. Liked the Agway better. Can’t imagine trying to get all those bales in groups with just the grapple. Maybe one day you can get a Bale Baron like @chroniclesofkayla!

It’s nice to see local farmers in NC, I used to work on a farm years ago but I still love to watch the videos of the harvest and getting ready for the harvest. I hope the good lord blessed y’all with a good wheat harvest this year and blesses y’all with a good corn and bean harvest as well. God Bless🙏🏻

couple of questions, is your combine what was know as a titan series.? the other question is there a reason you dont use a flat 8 bale sledge for grouping you bales? do you have a lot of flint? that can cause a problem with cutting the strings whilst getting the 8 in the sledge. on a side note, i didnt realise nitrogen was a cause of crop laying down, i always thought it was due to wind or straw length. love the content as usual 😊

I guess I have to wonder the reasoning behind getting Greenstar Guidance? Seems like AgLeader may have been a more economical option with the same capabilities and no subscription required. I always prefer Deere but with limited applications on limited acres, it comes down to the dollars and pennies for us.

We're in Indiana and are using older JD equipment as well, updating to GPS etc, cameras, and update kits on planting and harvesting equipment. It does save a lot of operating money but can limit growth. Always comes down to labor availability doesn't it, no matter your size. Just a generic question, that 6620 can handle a little larger head can't it?
@Routh-family-farms
@Routh-family-farms 10 күн бұрын
No, with Nc hills and how many hours our 6620 is getting on it thats all she wants. Its could do bigger in wheat but in beans 15ft’s all it wants.
@RouthFarms
@RouthFarms 10 күн бұрын
I have heard of people running 18 foot heads on them, but specifically in soybeans ours lack the power. I’d say you could run bigger, but would have to go slower. We can travel the road here with a 15’ header so we never take header off. Just works better for us
@billwhitman1529
@billwhitman1529 10 күн бұрын
@@RouthFarms I get the road travel. Just curious, how many acres of soybeans and or corn do you think a 6620 can cover, comfortably, in the average fall?
@RouthFarms
@RouthFarms 10 күн бұрын
@@billwhitman1529 we are a small farm, o currently only cover 110 acres. I’d guess conditions, field size, distance between fields, and if you do trucking or just combine all day. I’d say you could probably cover 20-30 acres a day in soybeans if you get started fairly early and keep at it, maybe more. We take our time and enjoy it since we don’t farm very much yet.
