57 has always been my favorite Vette. Love this color. In early 60's a kid had a red one with 283 FI and 4 speed. He put overdrive on it and I hear he still has it.

They say in the video that it’s a “working man’s car.” Not everything had to be a gazillion horsepower billet engine with a blower. As if 500hp isn’t enough anyways 🙄 Plus I guarantee you’re full of crap and don’t have the engine you say you do…probably don’t even own the car either.

At least it’s not an obnoxious short, or other video shot vertically. That’s what I fine the most annoying: a video about a car, but only like 5% of it is in frame at any given time.

Beautiful car, the color is so classy. Love the choice of a 5.3, just a solid, modern, comfortable car with that engine. I also love how much original there is, like the original style radiator and upholstery. I've got a post 210 57 that I really haven't done much to in years, and I really want to start getting back into it. Cars like this one really get the juices going again.

My guess is the ever-impending gas crisis that lowered compression across the board.
@thud97974 ай бұрын
Yes, for 71 GM ordered all compression ratios across the board lowered in preparation for the new unleaded gas that was hitting the market. In 1970 the LS6 had 11.25 to 1 compression and for 71 the maximum on any Chevrolet engine was 9 to 1 and it stayed that way for at least the rest of the decade.
@chrisfinamore63643 ай бұрын
1970 Ls-6 was Chevelle- El Camino only 450 hp 11.25 compression cast iron heads. In 1971 LS-6 was Corvette only 9 to 1 compression but with 074 casting Smowflake aluminum heads.
