Hi, probably 4 years too late to the party here but can you advise on what I should get for an 8yr old. They are learning at school. I see a fender Venice and a Zuma. One is a soprano the other a concert? What’s the big difference? Which should I choose! ( I’m a guitarist so will probably jam it too)

Will, I certainly enjoyed demonstration of any 12 string electric that include overdrive or distortion. People seem to keep away from that out of tradition from the folk rock and jangle pop eras when everyone just plugged them in without driving them.

I just got one of these in the faded cherry finish. No PCB board wiring! Lighter and slightly smaller than a traditional Firebird. Tribute mini humbuckers totally rock, especially with the traditional wiring. The neck is thin but deep, that is the string spacing is a bit closer, but then widens out going up the fretboard. It works well with a finger slide. Great variety of tones are available using volume and tone controls especially in the middle switch position. Overall a really good guitar. Others have noted that the neck pickup cannot be raised much at all(or the string will mute on it when playing above the 15th fret)but it doesn’t need to come up anyway. Definitely a nice add to my lineup. Recommend.

I’ve always felt for me a guitar has got to have a clean tone to be any good. These seem to check a lot boxes. My first Les Paul had a crap clean tone, never regretted selling it. These are voiced so well for blues. I’ve been waiting for a jazz demo! 😂 seem like they do it all.

My little Zoom processor isn’t the same model as this one, but it can definitely pack a wallop like this one.

Had a friend buy one of these and convert the top one to a baritone like Ed Van Halen’s double neck on spanked. Made it look exactly. He even re-veneered the top, stained it purple and glossed it. All just because he wanted to play spanked. Hahahaha😂

Possibly my favorite example of this being done on an electric guitar is from the Chicago The view, *The Chicago Transit Authority.* Terry Kath, The Band found a guitar player, had created his own form of overdrive by using a Bogan PA amp to drive the preamp of a Fender Dual Showman. Aside from doing an improvised track (that he didn’t even know was being recorded) that was dubbed “Free Form Guitar”, Terry also produced a sustained G note during the introduction to a song called “Listen”.

Will, you could be much worse than to choose the pedal that helps your guitar stay in tune as the one you favor.
