Hi! How does it perform against a strong backlight? Does it have more flare/ghosting than lens without an adapter? Thank you!

@@acoast84 hey! I meant to create a short to show it against the backlight, but I’m in the middle of moving and on vacation too. But, as for an answer for now, and just using it, I don’t notice anything that sticks out to me. The inside of the metabones is flocked with black velvet material to reduce any extra external light from leaking. The fit is tight on the postive lock and the is a weather seal between the camera and metabones adapter. When I can, I’ll test the zeiss contax lens on my fx6 with an adapter and a native ef lens mount camera

@@themadlightfilms Thanks for the thorough reply! I was looking into 7artisans adapter as well but there is a review that says it has a noticeable flare against strong backlight. I'm always skeptical about ''cheaper'' gear. One more thing - With this Cine Smart lock, is it possible to change the lens with only one hand as well while holding the camera with the other hand? Or is it definitely a two-hand thing? Thank you!

@@acoast84 np! well I really wanted a solid lens mount and didn’t want to have to mess with testing out cheaper products. I would say, if you do video work professionally, buying good gear is the way to go. I am able to change smaller lenses with one hand but even then it is way better to use 2. It would be easy to think the lens is flush when it is not. Also some lenses are tougher to get flush than others. For bigger lenses you definitely want 2 hands or 2 people.

@@acoast84 also, there is the one from dzofilm but reviews say it has a tight connection which was a turn off for me. The metabones has been perfect also far

@@juliusschade599 we use cineprint 16 by Tom bolles! Applying this node tree to footage looks really good on s-log straight out the gate. Although normally I’ll turn off the blur and halation (or decrease it) .

I do have one on, i had to duouble check another clip I have but the seatbelt is being perfectly covered by the steering wheel 🤣. I would have known if it was off because my car would have been screaming at me

Congrats on the new gear! You are pretty much one the only content creators that has uploaded an unboxing of a Flanders Scientific product. I've personally been considering investing into the DM220 model, but i've been hesitant due to the lack of information or content showcasing that specific model or the slightly smaller model DM160 which you purchased. As a freelance colorist looking to take on larger more commercial projects, I've read that Flanders Scientific are the best of the best below 30k+ market, yet very little information is available in regards to these newer OLED models. I'm interested to hear what you think about the color accuracy in comparison to what you used previously and of course I would love to know what your thoughts are in regards to the potential burn in issues that mythically plague OLED panels. The last one looks like its an ad for the camera cause its a close up view which makes it more cinematic and the second one looks like its a scene from a movie. As for the first one to me it looks like its a draft scene taken behind the scenes before editing, leaving space for the background in case they add smth to it or so. All of them look great though^^

What about with something like astrophotography, where the subject is effectively infinitely far away? The only two ways to increase field depth is to increase focal length or the aperture?

I’m not super familiar with astrophotography, though I’ve shot the milk way a couple times. But, I have a friend that would be perfect for this question. His Instagram is @ ak_astro if you want to send him a question! I would assume that it would not matter if you’re focusing to infinity. And you’d want to have your aperture wide open to let as much light in. And at that point, your focal length would just determine how much of the landscape and space you want.
