This is the curse of strictly cladistic categorization. Non-idiots understand that you can define a type as A-B; ie those A that are not B. So you can easily define a category that includes all fish EXCEPT those that brlong to the clade that led to amphibians, reptiles, and mammals. Weinstein shouldn't have fallen for this cladistic clownishness. But he has racked up quite a record of saying stupid things online.

This wave theory, maybe our brains simultaneously straddle both the physical plane we can see hear touch and smell, and the quantum. Perhaps this wave function happens purely in the quantum, but still influences this side? Holding a bed sheet up, you can push your hand against it, from the other side you can see the imprint clear as day, but still doesn't physically pass thru the sheet.

Something from nothing. But how do we know that this Nothing variable is what it is? Maybe there's an entire quantum plane that maybe runs parallel to what we currently view as the physical world around us?

I am disappointed with this video, science is in fact not so much about "really understanding" things, just modelling. If you sit down on a chair, do you really "understand" why you don't fall to the floor? No, but you are used to it so you don't question it, and the force behind is is described by the Maxwell's equations. It basically is just the Coulomb force, and Maxwell's equations decribe this force. If you sit on a chair, it is more complicated, of course, since a chair is a solid state object, where quantum effects play a minor role. It is similar with detectors, Quantum Mechanics is used to simulate the particle stream entering a target, the result is a statistical thing and it can be calculated and compared with experiments and we have done this for decades and thousands of PhD papers have been produced like this. Do you really belive it has all been rubbish? Ok, now please don't come me with Schroedinger's cat....

An excellent interview, thank you both. I really enjoyed it. I can very much understand Sabine's approach, it's basically "Sticking with the principles of science, if there's something we don't know for sure, we should keep the question open instead of just giving a quick answer of for example, multi verse, that would instead; close the question!".. It's a very elegent defence of the scientific method. Personally, this is my method of, inputting accurate data into my world views, I expect from scientific theories to be at least scientific and not merly philosophical predictions.. or else it'll turn into something like politics and religions. I was always blamed of one thing though for having this stand, and I hoped to hear it from Sabine, that is: "What remains then? If you hate politics, don't believe in psychology, or social sciences (Which I don't really consider it science in the first place), how else would you understand the world?", It's a very fair question, I have to confess, because in my views, human phychology for example, is almost impossible to understand scientifically (in my strict definitions of science), while many the experiments done in psychology come up with huge headlines and leaps even than the 'multi verse' in physics, with very narrow and circumstancial experiments and should for example be a statistical data instead. Two points for the above: * First, is that keeping psychology ascientific (thank you Sabine), will pressure us to identify that this field is really important, and we should actually work on, scientifically find proper methods tackle it, instead of giving false headlines and fake ourselves that we understand much about ourselves. (it is one of the most important fields to really tackle), * Second, is that, unfortunatly, this has kept me skeptic, and unwilling to proceed in learning many of the good ideas coming from these ascientific fields, with adapting these views, I'm left with very narrow-scientific findings as products of natural sciences (plus computer stuff, my area of expertise :D), and per my friends, closing my eyes on other important fields.

Many people in this comment section are taking what the first Lady said totally as something like a word salad. But that’s not really the case. In fact the way she describes it makes perfect sense. Firstly she is describing it somewhat philosophically which again was confirmed by the second Lady that it’s not a thing that Science as we know it can answer or even should answer. Secondly it encapsulates our current understanding of Gravity in simple terms, it’s a CONFLUENCE of Space and Time, if not then what it is? Thirdly IT IS a fundamental force that orders the Universe as we know it. The second Lady said it with a bunch of scientific/mathematical jargons meanwhile the first with a bunch of philosophical sounding jargons. Also one more observation that I made here is that they both are indeed humble and polite in the way they said what they think. Only that the second Lady sounds more polite and maybe also clear to a Western mind while the first sounds the same to an Eastern mind. In fact as a person from the East, the first woman sounds as if she is expressing somewhat poetically the awe that Gravity inspires in her as to how much crucial and fundamental of a thing it really is!

It’s not hard to google people. Firstly, china roughly represents 20% of worlds population, dwarfing the USA’s 4%. Secondly, China ranks 3rd in terms of land mass. It’s a little above USA and below Canada and Russia (who both of whom have large tracks of unpopulated and unpopulable land). Thirdly, China is trying to expand, see Tibet and Taiwan.

He lost me talking about Amazon having a 20% to 40% markup. That is nowhere near true. Amazon's margins are low, and has been making an operational loss (instead of gain) for years!!! Amazon makes most of its actual profits from its AWS cloud services, NOT selling products.

I don't know how science is tought in the world, but in Italy they teach time is relative, there is not an absolute time and it is linked to space. Just like the there is only one physics and one maths, there is only one economics. Other "so-called systems" like socialism or feudalism or oligarchies or theocracies or whatever are subject to the same economic laws as capitalism. What is different about capitalism is that it creates wealth, the other systems ultimately only destroy it. We must choose what sort of capitalism we want, not try to replace it with some fantastical political solution that will magically solve all our problems.
@CliffDaSikk15 сағат бұрын
So what is the solution? This is self marketing via complaining but no real attempt for the better. Capitalism is the best thing that happened to mankind. We All would not even exist without capitalism. Just saying. People stay away from ideologists!

The past is not fixed because the past exists only in memory (ie. does not exist), therefore like the future, the past exists only in the probability spectrum. The consequences of past actions exist in the present however, meaning while the past has a direct influence on the present, strictly speaking the past does not exist. These experiments illustrate that by the past and future both relying on present measurements. It all sounds complicated but makes perfect sense.

The misuse of genetic determinism has been associated with racially motivated violence and discriminatory practices. Genes operate within gene regulatory networks, which respond flexibly, contextually, and stochastically-not deterministically. This flexibility challenges the rigid notion of genetic determinism. Unlike other species, humans possess free will, allowing us to choose different paths even when faced with similar external stimuli. Our actions, decisions, and experiences shape who we become. This individual variation cannot be attributed to genetic determinism. Case closed and please don't open it again, just for novelty sake.

Yes you are correct, but only about co-exsiting in dimensional space and time. Their are far more dimension time lines than four. All dimensions are separated by space which in itself is govern by energy, so take time out of Quantum physics, then separate the dimensional realms with matter and rewrite the equation.
