The album cover is exactly what you thought it is, a Rorschach test image

This sounds like they where back in the 75-77 era but with a modern production ! Some fans especially of the mid eighties era might be lost here , but this is vintage RUSH .

The Songs on the debut LP, Greatest Hits, are not demos, the Songs just got remade on later LPs.

That one's really a gym. This band could do this National Geographic mood that just takes the mind to new places. Much like the bridge section on Roundabout. Great to see you younger guys discovering this underappreciated band. Thanks, little bro!

I would call Alient Ant Farm Alternative Rock, not Nu Metal nor any subgenre of Metal.

I love the early days of JP. My older brother introduced me to the JP Rocka Rolla album when I was 9 in 1974 and I was hooked. My brother also saw them live before they made it big time

One of their heaviest albums with Virus. The Mountain is probably my favorite one of the greatest prog bands at the moment.

Rick Beato says that Bill Bruford is "one of the greatest fusion drummers ever." I can't disagree with him. This whole album showcases the brilliance of Bruford. Check out the track "Heart Of The Sunrise" and be enthralled.

This song is but one part of a matched pair. For the full effect, one must also play "We Have Heaven." Full disclosure: I am not an objective observer, I am a Yes fan boy. Not sorry. Love that song "We Have Heaven," especially because it leads into "South Side Of The Sky." I've always wanted to get 5 or 6 people together and sing it live.

Anyone who has not seen/heard the medley of this on either Three Sides Live or other versions needs to. Just imagine replicating this amazing song live. No other band touches their live performances.

This is more fund to watch live. Check out Roger Hodgson's KZfaq channel (He is the voice of Supertramp and wrote most of the songs) He went solo in 1983. But he's still performing all of the songs he wrote for Supertramp and some of his others. with a new band,

After Priest you can check the KK’s Priest albums.KK Downing after leaving Priest and Ripper Owens are awesome! Lyrics are pathetic but music is awesome! A lot. Ore Priest sounding.

Thank you for reacting to this, maybe the most “metal” of all Yes tracks. They didn’t even perform this live until their 2002 or 2003 tour. And saw them do it twice on that tour. The lyrics were inspired by a PBS special that Jon Anderson was watching while stoned. It was about an excursion onto Mt Everest, I believe. Everyone died. And it was about their last thoughts. Very atypical of Jon’s lyrics, where there was usually something more uplifting or spiritual to them. Or at the very least, more ambiguous meanings. This was straight ahead about people dying from cold exposure. They got lost and couldn’t find their way. One of my favorite songs of theirs ever. And kind of underrated, even by them, until they dug it out of their catalog and worked it up in rehearsals, and ready for performance. They actually always loved it, but felt it was too difficult to perform live.

The two songs you knew before are the only ones almost everybody knows. "Carry on.." of course a fantastic song, "Dust in the Wind" - okay, but most people would only listen to the real good stuff for one minute. They have no idea what they're missing.

Nice video as always ! Are you going to skip Angel of Retribution since I've heard you say you already know it ? If so, it's gonna be Nostradamus !! My personnal favorite. In fact Nostradamus is my favorite album ever. If you're expecting some groovy Priest tracks, you may be disappointed, but in terms of storytelling, and drama, it's unmatched. It also has the best performances of Halford in my opinion. Also, as it's full of intros, I highly recommand that you find versions with the intros and the songs stuck together, to get the overall vibes better. Looking forward to it ! 🤘

I am curious to see how your view of the Ripper albums shakes out when you go back to do the final ratings. Do they get better with additional listening? Wear thin? Stay the same? Enquiring minds want to know! I never had a problem with their change of direction, but I was listening to them when they came out in that era so they seemed to fit better. Plus they had a new singer with a lot of low end growl so it seemed like they were trying to fit his style

Excellent reaction as always. Did not like "Lost and Found", Priest have done great ballads, and this was not one of them. Other songs were good, but still not the Priest sound, .... we had to wait for Rob's come back.

I think my biggest problem with the Ripper era is exactly what you keep saying. It just doesn’t sound like JP. JP have change their sound many times over the years from VoC to PoE to Turbo to Painkiller to Nostradamus BUT it always sounded like JP. Also, I think the lyrics are extremely sophomoric. Finally, just not a big Ripper fan. He can definitely sing but to me he mostly sounds more like Alice In Chains with deviations into other metal vocal styles. It’s like he doesn’t have his own unique style. Will say that a lot of the guitar riffs are pretty damn good but thats about it

I'm a big fan of Tim's vocals, but IMO, everything he did after Priest was way better. From Iced Earth, to Malmsteen, and especially his own projects like Charred Walls of The Damned, I feel like it's superior to his stuff in Priest. It's almost like they were holding him back vocally.
@JamieScottShow5 күн бұрын
He’s a great singer. He just butchers Judas Priest. Everything else is good. Framing Armageddon vocals are sick. Gettysburg rules. He nails a bunch of stuff with KK… But he sucks hard at all things JP, whether it’s a Rob song, or his own - it all deserves to be hidden.

need to react to Halford's solo work after you finish with Priest except maybe 2wo which is straight industrial but Fight and Halford are fine quality Metal pieces.
