I have this one bookmark that is falling apart bc of how much i used it. I would only use that book,ark for my favorite series that is over 10 books that each are over 400 pages that i read ten times each. 😅 (keeper of the lost cities by Shannon Messenger in case anyone is wondering). Its not even one of the ones that have the characters on it! I have some of those that are reserved for other books. For this series I use a one specific random bookmark. . . 8:27

I love reading with music in the background but I will pick one song that fits the vibe of the book and listen to it on repeat the entire time I read it😂 I end up tuning it out but it just feels like a movie to me when I have music playing in the background!!

"A Fragile Enchantment" was actually one of my least favorite Saft books, so the upcoming release has me really excited (I think she does well with the darker plots)! I'm also excited for both Xmas romances you mentioned, as well as "Rules for Ghosting" by Shelly Jay Shore, and "The Fate of Magic," the sequel to "Night of the Witch," by Sara Raasch and Beth Revis. Also, question: from 1-5, how spicy would you say My Roommate is a Vampire is? I'm interested in giving it a try, but I'm Ace and smut does nothing for me, so I don't want too much. 2 out of 5 is about my limit.

omg wait, i didn’t realize night of the witch is also by sara raasch! i’ve been eyeing that book for a whiiiile👀 what would you say is your favorite saft book? i’ve heard really good things about a far wilder magic, and have been thinking of giving it a go! also, for my roommate is a vampire, i’d say it’s a 1-2 spice level (obviously these things are subjective af), but if i remember correctly, there was only one minor scene and it’s totally skippable imo🫶🏼

@@MelReads "Night of the Witch" wasn't a 5 star, but it was entertaining and I actually liked the romance in it by the end, which is rare. As for Saft, I haven't read too many of hers (I have "Down Comes the Night" but I'm waiting until colder weather to read it), but I definitely preferred "A Far Wilder Magic" to "A Fragile Enchantment." The former was better paced because it didn't have too much going on, and the only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I, as a Fullmetal Alchemist fan, couldn't stop comparing the two. Fragile Enchantment was okay, but I felt it was doing way too much (the prejudice, romance, fake courting, arranged marriage, gossip columnist, family issues) and so I couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted. Thank you! I'll definitely give it a try then :)

🧛 I'm so looking forward to dark and drowning tide. Funny story, I had a little crisis moment one day because my brain forgot everything about the book except the cover, then lied to me and convinced me that the book was already out and I spent hours looking for it. I even made a very bad stick figure drawing of the cover and posted on twitter, in case somebody could tell me and then whined to my bestie. Then the next day while I was adding another book in my list, I saw it and went "wait a min-". So yeah, me = 🤡 ✨Recs(?) As a fellow cat lover, I think it's my duty to inform you of a book coming out on Sept 3, "We'll prescribe you a cat" by Syou Ishida. And a bl horror I added just yesterday after I found it on IG. Don't let the forest in by CG Drews, releasing on Oct 29.
