They've been around since the time of dinosaurs!!! 😮 How cool is that? 😎 And they can live out of water for 24 hours. They're pure muscle and put up a great fight. It seems like they get a bad name because they're scavengers...but scavengers serve a purpose in the ecosystem. I love catching them! And yes...that was one crazy morning of fishing! Joe that was really special. Nice to fish with a new friend. It's' true therapy out there, in boats we build, for ourselves. My two uncles, served in Vietnam, and are brothers. They both fished with my dad, all their lives, as did i learning to drive his 21ft boat at ten yrs old 😂 My dad taught me everything on the water. God bless all of our vets. Hi Anthony, yeah....sight fishing is awesome! I couldn't believe that Pike sat down so quickly and so near after the first miss. That's one thing I love about Pike: when they're hungry, they're hungry...and they'll strike again soon if given the chance. Drop down GoPro would be cool. And yeah...fish do defend the bed! 🙂 I also love the release cam. Older GoPro's are cheap on Ebay. I use the Hero 9 and you can get them for a steal...new or used. Those are all great most I have one that is a huge game changer. I put a trolling motor button/switch on the right steering pedal . It simply by passes the throttle so you can steer and power at the same time. Instead of constantly using your right hand you just simply push the button on the pedal. The switch is wired to the back of the plug receptacle from the inside. The switch also has a feature that can be used to operate the motor with the stock throttle. I got the switch off Amazon for under $40.

@FishingAroundFenton 2 ай бұрын
Hello. I have the 16 x 16 inch version of the Yakattack Blackpak Pro. In my humble opinion, it's more expensive than it should be...but I absolutely love it. I store a lot of gear in that thing...tackle boxes, anchor, the trolling rod holder setup, first aid kit, and more. I did end up buying a canvas type storage bag to keep the loose items organized. If I had to do it all over again knowing what I know now...I'd buy the exact same crate again 🙂 I hope that helps...if not then feel free to ask more questions. They're awesome kayaks, aren't they? I love my MK too! Yes...fishing while standing is very doable...I've done it a couple times. For me personally, I don't care for it as much as fishing from the seat. Standing in the kayak felt like standing on a board on top of a ball...the floor rocks up and down a little bit with movement. It wasn't terrible and I imagine you'd get used to it, but it's not like standing on firm ground. Thanks for watching the vid and taking the time to comment...I really appreciate it!!! 👍🙂

Hey Steve....nice to hear from you!!! 🙂 How's the fishing down there in Florida? I really like the length of the 106, I think it's easier to store, easier to transport, and has great maneuverability on the water. I'm sure it's lighter than the 120's, but I'm not sure by how much. I rooftop transport mine, I'm not a young kid anymore. and the 106 hull is not the lightest thing in the world 🤣 I think it's around 80 lbs with nothing attached. @@FishingAroundFenton My dad bought me a 4 ft, inflatable raft when I was 8yrs old. I'd be out all day, on a pond behind my house. Live nightcrawlers, a pole, and my tackle box. I think we're all that kid, out there just enjoying an adventure. 😂 🎣

I went under a low bridge with mine and my line got caught on the bridge. Stood up to free the line and went over. The kayak didn’t flip I just fell off. Hot day anyway.

Ouch. I can completely understand. I came across a bridge last year that was so low I don't think the seat would have fit under it. I ended up turning around. I think it would be a pain trying to right the kayak if it flipped. How hard was it for you to get back in?

Thanks my friend! I got to tell you...I was pretty nervous getting into the back of the kayak. Going for a swim wasn't on my list of things to do that day 🤣 But the kayak is crazy stable and by taking it slowly I felt confident enough to try it. Luckily it worked out. Thanks as always for watching my videos and for your comments....appreciate it!!!!! 👍🙂

I'm glad to see you're out there already. My kayak hasn't hit the water yet, but I tried a couple of times from the shore at a few places. Nothing is biting since it's too cold. I did see that the Holly Millpond water level is very low right now. I'm sure I'll run into you out there once this weather breaks.

Hey Mike! Yeah...the weather is crazy: 67 last week, 32 and snow this week. I stopped by Holly a couple times as well and saw the super low water level. I tried fishing from the shore there, but like you I had no luck. It won't be long and we'll all be out fishing on a regular basis. 🙂 Looking forward to it!!!

Good to see you back on the water again, my friend. I spent 11 hours out last weekend, testing my electronics, my motor, some new add-on's and accessories. I did have good luck with a red craw crank bait, and tried something new. From watching Greg Blanchard, i'm liking the shaky head. This is my 5th season. It felt so good to pull my kayak out of the garage, and sit on the water, enjoying mother nature. Having a hot coffee. 🐟🎣

Wow....11 hours on the water...that's awesome!!! 👍 I wish there were 11 hours worth of fish biting around here 🤣 As much as I'm not a big fan of winter, it is nice to take a break, rest a bit, get some new toys, and anticipate Spring fishing. Getting the kayak out for the start of the year is like waiting for Xmas morning when we were kids 🤣 It sounds like you made good use of the down time. So nice to hear from you again my friend...hopefully 2024 turns out to be our best year fishing yet! 🙂

@@FishingAroundFenton 😂 No there was about 1-2 hrs of a bite window. It was 72 degrees, so I just wanted to do some testing, and prospecting. It just felt good to be out there. 🛶🎣 😎

Thanks! Yeah...I love fishing and love laughing 🤣 I'm ready for some steadier, warmer temps to really wake up the fish! The way things are going this winter that might not be too far away. I know how you feel...waiting to get the kayak out is like waiting for Xmas day when you were a kid 😂 Best of luck to you as well my friend!!!

Forgot to ask. What type of PFD is that and could you show in detail what lure setup you use from time to time? Thanks.

Great suggestion about showing my lure setup more often. I will try to remember that for the next video. I fell in love with Keitech swimbaits a couple years ago. In the Summer I almost exclusively use the white "Sight Flash" FAT impact version. If the water is really dirty I'll try the black version. I catch Pike, Largemouth, Smallmouth, Bowfin, and have even caught a Rock Bass with that lure. In the Fall I found the "Fire Claw" version works really well. I like the 4.8" length. I use an Owner twistlock weighted hook. I love the PFD. It's an Onyx AM-24. It can be used in self-inflating or manual mode. In self-inflating mode, a CO2 cartridge inflates the PFD once it's submerged in water. The PFD is super-light...I never know I'm wearing it. It would be nice if it had an attachment point for a knife. I think Bass Pro Shop or Cabela's sell the same vest with their name on it too. Several other manufacturers make similar PFDs.

P.S. The other lure I really like is the Whopper Plopper for topwater. I've caught a lot of fish with that lure too. I like the 90 version for size and weight.
