This song played at my 5th grade graduation.

I was in love with a beautiful woman and spent a few years trying to get her to be my girlfriend. I remember singing this song in my room so many times while thinking about her and praying she was somewhere out there thinking of me too. I was 13. We ended up together but at 18 i left for boot camp and she called me a couple months later and broke up with me. She couldn't do long distance. I was crushed and that moment was the spark for me to be an alcoholic. She was all i lived for since 13. Im now 8 years sober and 53. I still sing this song and pray shes thinking of me. She lives in Florida now and I in Massachusetts. I pray she looks me up and tries to find me. Ill forever love you Sue!!

I am 44 years old and remember how much impact this song had on my childhood when I first watched "An American Tail" in theaters. I still tear up whenever I hear it because I know in my heart this person is Rydia from Final Fantasy 4. She doesn't exist in material form, but does in spiritual form for me, and whomever my soulmate is will share this spirituality with me.
