The vertical side mounted window hose is not optimum with the round hot air exhaust below the air intake. You should at least use the couple of inch extension on 6" round exhaust port attachment to get it away from air intake. Better yet, buy a $10 six-inch round metal duct 45 deg elbow from Home Depot. You can pound out some of the coupling ripples to make it fit snugly over the round plastic exhaust extension. This will direct the exhaust heat out and away from air intake. The redirect exhaust elbow improves efficiency and reduces stress on unit by not sucking in the hot exhaust air back into intake.
