The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1895, is the sixth oldest orchestra in the United States. At the time of this recording, William Steinberg was music director and chief conductor of the ensemble. The orchestra made many recordings during this era, the majority of them at the old Syrian Mosque in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood (this recording conducted by Dimitri Tiomkin was one of those exceptions). In 1976 André Previn succeeded Steinberg as music director and chief conductor and led the orchestra through an exciting decade in its history with the series "Previn and the Pittsburgh" on PBS, among other things. Today Manfred Honeck is music director and chief conductor.

Steven Spielberg Directed this movie with all the Stars Robin Williams, Julia Robert's, Glen Close, and Dustin Hoffman. And so many others. What a great Collaboration on a movie so many talents. 😊

This is a great instrumental movie soundtrack for the imagination. Robin Williams is playful when he is eating with the Lost boys.😊

I absolutely love the music, sometimes I skip through the movie just to hear it. Also love, love the alarm clock in the opening of the movie. Would love to have that and an ice box in my bathroom to keep the ice to freeze my pores after a vigorous face scrubbing!

I listened to his score for Ben-Hur yesterday, over 80+ tracks, over 2 hours, one of my favourite movie scores. I sometimes wonder how hard it might have been, after doing such a breathtakingly good score, how difficult it must be to come up with something new, especially for a movie like this, not exactly the same as Ben-Hur, but still resonates the same. How difficult it must be to not repeat yourself.

Research: Imaginative adventure film embellished with special effects, which allow the dragon to "live" for real. In the original version his voice is by Sean Connery, in Italian by Gigi Proietti. Kara: A beautiful and courageous peasant girl who seeks revenge on Einon for killing her father, the leader of the rebels who caused the death of the previous king. Dina Meyer was the second actress Cohen interviewed for the role. Cohen stated that he needed an actress who was "strong and someone who could, ultimately, handle a pair of Viking axes herself and look believable." The film has been shot in Slovakia since 1994 in Spiš Castle. Sean Connery not only voiced the character of Draco, but also gave the dragon facial expressions. Critics praised the premise, visual effects, and character development, but considered the script confusing and clichéd. In the same year as the film's release, a video game of the same name was released, developed by Torus Games and published by Acclaim Entertainment for Game Boy. The title is a point-and-click graphic adventure in which the player plays as Sir Bowen who will have to defeat the various fire-breathing dragons he will encounter along the way. A literary transposition by Charles Edward Pogue was taken from the film's screenplay. The Dragonheart book in Italy was published by Sperling & Kupfer. Matthew Feitshans, head writer of the last two films, stated during the production of the third film, that the plan was to keep the momentum with the series and hopes, to bring a remake of the original film.

The score was deserving of a better film....
