Good spot! Thank you, what a silly mistake :D The pod actually uses the angle on the other side (between the horizon line and the slant range) and hence sin is correct for what the pod computes internally. See i.imgur.com/fXiX6u0.png (the pod uses alpha not beta in that diagram)

To be honest, I can’t understand absolutely anything... If I simply repeat the actions after you in the video, the container does not “bind” to the target. When I press the button "freeze" nothing happens. In your video, the “voice” says the coordinates.

When you hit the FREEZE button, the WRCS remembers your current aircraft coordinates at the time of hitting the button. Now, you can enter offset coordinates into the WRCS panel. Either manually or via using the radar offset cursor. Hit the INSERT button and the WRCS will interpret the entered offset data relative to the aircraft position when you hit FREEZE earlier. The resulting position will now me remembered as WRCS target. When the Pave Spike is in WRCS-Acquisiton mode (the 3-way switch on the panel), it will cue itself to said WRCS target.

I'm having the same issue. I think there are a number of other settings not mentioned. I believe you have to be in delivery mode > tgt find, also it looks like you have to activate half action on the hand control trigger. Still trying to find out why I'm also not getting the voice and the freeze button does not light either.

@@chillm2 Yes, the video assumes that you know the basics of the pod already. Check the linked manual or other videos on KZfaq. TGT FIND is the delivery mode used for the pod. It will also trigger Jester to ready up the pod. If you are the WSO, you don't need this to operate the pod. Half Action let's the pod enter and leave tracking mode. In the video you want to be in acquisition mode, the default. For this videos content, it's enough to turn on the pod, put it into WRCS ACQ mode and set the DSCG to display TV instead of Radar. At that point, the Pave Spike shows whatever is the current WRCS target.

You can already do the Offset stuff via the Bombing Tool. Temporary Freeze/Insert binds are available to the pilot with the next patch.

Yeah exactly. The system can be used for dumb bombs perfectly fine as well. In fact, if you happen to have a Pave Spike, I would generally prefer TGT FIND as it is just like a CCRP delivery in other planes. Point the pod somewhere, hold Bomb Button, follow the steering cues and wait for the release. Its so simple. And almost as previse as Dive Toss! It even allows you to do small loft deliveries out of the box by just flying a slight pitch up while you wait for the bombs to release. Can also be interesting to loft LGBs a bit further.

To the side? Sounds like either your INS is borked or you are not following the steering cues for lateral alignment. If it would be short/long I would suspect wrong drag coefficient for the given altitude, speed and bomb, but not if they hit to the sides

Zab is an HB dev - and their manual is pretty handy for some of these concepts, although I must admit hearing the dev explanation helps a lot :)

The manual kinda explains it, but falls a bit short on connecting the dots. Like, it says that WRCS acquisition mode shows the current WRCS target - but you would have to explore the WRCS chapter to learn how to set WRCS targets and probably need to be exposed to some real-pilot stories to get some of these ideas. Definitely would make sense to expand the Pave Spike manual chapter on this topic a bit 👍

The controls are temporarily available for the pilot to bind as well, until Jester fully supports the pod. Right now, Jester sets up the pod for 12-VIS and, by clicking his context-action, he will enter or leave TRACK mode, where the stabilization will be executed. If you want to slew the pod further or start the laser, you would use the temporary binds for the Antenna Hand Controller. The Target Altitude can be set as Pilot via the Bombing Calculator tool.

Loved it. I am having trouble keeping the bird level in turns. Or banks. To stay behind is not that hard as long as it stays level on me.. But it keeps rolling under on me. So needing to counter that, I lose my turn/bank and not long after he/she is on my tail. I do use the flaps tho. And it seemed to help against 1. 2 vs I And I got 1. He left his wing man. AHHHA

The vanilla Wipeout or a modded Wipeout? Try to remove all other mods for a moment and see if the issue still persists. If you located the offending mod, either take one of our support-mods for that mod to fix it (see the readme) or support for that mod has not been created yet. The mod is open-source at GitHub, feel free to fix it. The mod is right now without active author, I am not playing the game anymore.

i see that most if not all of the maneuvers start with the airspeed around 250-300 or so but never lower than that. also, i wanted to let you know and anyone else who sees this comment that you can get 'Annotations Restored' for Firefox and Chrome which will seek out the annotations of old videos like this in the page script and allow you to see them again. I am currently watching this video with the annotations perfectly restored :)

Sounds like you are overdoing it. You have to be very careful on your controls, the aircraft starts to shake if you demand too much of it. Also, maintain good speed, otherwise you stall constantly :)

Did you release the brakes yet? Maybe tap them quickly. Also make sure to disengage the parking brake. Then go forward on the Prop Lever to give RPM and then forward on the MP Lever next to it to give Manifold Pressure.

so some may give you shit about "this or that" but for ME...this helped with my whole concept of the MERGE...I have DCS F16c, F18 Hornet, Harrier, FC3, Huey, Gazelle, Spitfire, and various associated mission/maps blah blan blan..anywhoo..."I" decided to go back old school to the WW2 and follow that concept forward enjoying the advancement along the way

Hello Zabusa:D i need some help. my rockets doesn't launch. i make all the switch settings, left bombs btn...xxxxx right bombs btn---zzzzzzz but when i switch to rockets and single/auto....it fires bombs. did you have an idea or help?

dont touch the bombfuse switch, let them in middle position. just use the weapon selector switch to the rockets pos. and select for auto or single. you need to press and hold the "weapon release switch" to fire them!

Hey zabuza, i've been playing with your mod since 3.1 and i feel like the new sounds do not fit at all, when i play with the 5.2 version, the impact sounds at the same time as the brrrt, and i think it should be, first impact, and then the brrrrt, to be honest i liked the older sounds better, i wish you could try and look into it, the mod is really great and it was needed, thanks for developing this!

Reaper tried it, turns out you just need to be A: behind the a-10 to hear impact and gun or b: get far away from the target area when faced towards the front. Or C: get a sound fix mod someone made. Hope it helps

The mod will be present on all A-10 vehicles just by having it activated. So you dont need to do anything except placing yourself an A-10 :)

Has nobody ever told you about deflection-shooting? You just place the reticle on the target and shoot! You did well when you deployed partially the flaps while manoeuvering nose-down, but you should have retracted them immediately when your enemy started to pull up and you did the same to follow him. Whenever you climp up you need full throttle with emergency power when available and the least possible loss of energy, so deployed flaps are a disadvantage in this case.
