[Verse 1] Stretching out cheap cotton over your thick skull Oh, I do feel awful on the way to school Can you picture my reaction to the word up on the wall? Is there really something wrong with me? [Verse 2] Stretching out cheap cotton over your thick skull I'm down here under the pavement so inept Until I grab that pen beside you Jam it into your eye See, now you're my kind of man Now you're a stand-up kind of guy [Verse 3] I am dying of embarrassment I'm dying of this hatred I can't rest until you know this bitterness that I have tasted Such humiliation for the first and only time I'm obsessed with your self-righteousness Cut in half by your smile [Chorus] Into the night You're getting harder to believe in You're a cold and quiet paradise Transfixed just by your breathing Into the night And you're the one thing I don't hate You're a cold and quiet paradise My only true escape into the night [Outro] Oh, oh-oh Oh, oh-oh Oh, oh-oh-oh-oh Oh, oh-oh Oh, oh-oh Oh, oh-oh-oh-oh

Look at this album cover. I can see myself and all my childhood friends in those boys. Some already gone... I think the one looking into the camera must be me. But I'm sure they did too. Thanks for the great music while I was here anyways, cheers!

I saw them in 2011 or 12 when they opened for Brand New. By far the best band I'd ever experienced as an opener, they opened for my long time favorite band ever. I was in my mid 30s then.

I feel that but coming from someone who felt the same way when it came out: their music got worse when they let some producer tell them to extend their songs. ST and Never Hungover Again are great and everything else is mid. Cody was such a letdown of an album, people just wanted another one of these albums with higher production quality, not longer songs. Short and sweet is what they did best.

I was at the lowest part of my life when i found this album, i remember i painting my new rental house fucked up on pill and alcohol. I was in my late teens / early 20's and wanted to kill myself. This album helped alot. Thank you Joyce Manor and Rusty for the upload. It's depressing but but somehow uplifting hearing this at the same time.

Reba still references Adventures occasionally, so maybe one day. Everyone else in CO currently has a side project (Resistance Wire) or side production project (Nowhere2Run) and you figure she probably has a bunch of side songs sitting around somewhere, since she was obviously the main writer behind both Adventures and Lilith.

just had this same realization today, with the same time frame. winter of 2015/16 in college and winter of 2023/24 here now. crazy how we can associate music with specific time, and then recall the feelings we felt at the time. wild brain stuff going on.
