Interesting you didn't have to cherry pick the engine out. How did you manage to get all of those Pullies out to gere to the Timing Chain Case?

Ik this late lol but you just remove the motor mount on that side and lift it up some and remove the 3 pulleys in the way

85k KM for a chain replacement seems quite less than my expectation. Do you happen to know why the chain got stretched so quickly?
@lcameeno1
@lcameeno1 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the 08 to 10 evo x had a weak timing chain that would stretch, the new updated one will last a hell of alot longer if not the whole life of the car unless you run stupid amounts of boost but even then it will take that abuse lol

hello there, i have a requestion. doesnt resetting the relearn value require a mut iii tool ? what is that fuse for? does it have the same result as pulling that fuse out andput it back in vs using mut iii? thanks , this is a great video. i am about to do this job my self as well. every input would be helpful
@TimTuimaseve
@TimTuimaseve 7 жыл бұрын
sorry for the late response. Havent used this account for a while. There is a difference. I found when pulling the fuse the error would come back. When I took it to the mitsubishi dealer they reset it for free and it has not come back since.

so i just did this yesterday but when the chain is on there i spun the crack twice like the other tutorial said to but i got confused when i looked at the timing marks and they weren't in the same spot is that normal or should they be in the same stop every time after a turn or two
@TimTuimaseve
@TimTuimaseve 7 жыл бұрын
They will be at different spots with every turn. I guess because the crank sprocket is a different size so you would need a few more turns to eventually get the marks to line up again. The other video you saw was probably telling you to turn it by hand to check for interference between the piston and the valve.

what up man questions did you have any code on the car or was it just because it was stretch that you change it I have a code p0017 and I think my chain is stretch but some one said can can be the computer because there was a call back for it
@TimTuimaseve
@TimTuimaseve 8 жыл бұрын
+Freddy Mercado Hey, I replaced it because I got the P00012 error code. There is a way of determining whether your chain is stretched. You need to take of the cam cover. If you go here: roadraceengineering.com/blog/2012/10/15/4b11-timing-chain-good-bad-and-ugly-mostly-ugly-not-so-much-good/ It shows how you can do a visual inspection.

Thanks. The only problem was that the timing chain warning light came back after 5000km or so. I took it to a mitsubishi dealer and they reset the learned values at no cost. Since then it has been prefect.
@SiR8081

Mr4zd so does that mean that the above clearing of the check light in the video is only temporary? Ultimately it has to be carried to the dealer to be reset?
@TimTuimaseve
@TimTuimaseve 9 жыл бұрын
Yes thats correct. It only lasted I think around 5000km's before the light came back on. I took it to the dealer (now 10000kms later) and it has not come back since.

Ok so let me get this straight...your comparing a 2014 model to another model that came out 13 years ago. Who the hell do you think is going to win?
@TimTuimaseve
@TimTuimaseve 10 жыл бұрын
Thats right, nothing wrong with me racing both my jetskis. Your logic is stupid, if I raced my 2014 vs a 2007 RXP, who do you think would win? The 2014?? lol. My 2 skis are evenly matched and both win against each other. 2014 has 155hp but is heavier, 2001 is 130hp but lighter plus its a 2 stroke - 2 strokes are faster than a 4 strokes as there are 2 fewer strokes to produce power. Maybe you should get some clue.
@tehsnipatres208
@tehsnipatres208 10 жыл бұрын
Mr4zd whoa dude I wasn't hating I was just stating, perhaps I should have worded it differently lol. And yes I actually know your logic. The brand I have is Kawasaki, and have you ever heard of the Kawasaki Ultra 150? That ski came out a long ass time ago and I know for a fact that it would beat some of the watercraft coming out today, man does it haul ass. (I think they stopped making the Ultra 150 in 2005). But I was only stating a fact that you DON'T have many old models that could stand up to newer models nowadays. Yes 2-stroke is considered the best but 4-stroke technology is getting better and to be honest I wish they kept making 2-stroke engines.

Mr4zd Well man I must say the best Sea Doo pwc back in the day would only get up to 55 mph stock that I am aware of, I haven't heard of any Sea Doo 2-stroke getting above 60-65 unless it had been modified. Sea Doo now is getting speeds up to 65-70 mph stock so I can kinda see Jules's logic. But at the same time you say the 2014 GTX has 155 HP which only does about 55 mph so I'd say their both evenly matched. Besides the fact that the 2014 model is more technologically advanced.
