What's the max spark length from this coil so far?

Max I have on video is drive.google.com/file/d/1HWpJu8o16NsRgALgGpR2oI0Xu8sgUZy1/view?usp=drivesdk which is ~9ft. Max I've seen is 13ft. Once I get my pfc boost converter working and if I have enough space I can probably get at least 15ft.

I built it almost a year ago, I don't remember the exact Fres, probably around 130kHz? MMC is a 0.1uF 3kV dawncap. Coil in general is roughly based off franzoli's alphaDR 3.

thanks, it really does! unfortunately, its heavily limited by duty cycle and running at 2ms for these videos the secondary delaminated so ill probably have to stick to 1ms in the future

the driver is ud2.9 from github.com/profdc9/DRSSTC-PCB-Pack, the bridge is a normal half bridge with BSM150 half bridge module and 100nF tank capacitor

lol I'd probably be fine if it hit me the real problem is any closer would blow out my phone mic and also it's my baby i want to e-stop as fast as i can in case something goes wrong so it doesn't damage itself too much

Have you discovered the hypervoice feature in the midistick yet? It makes the bass better. In SID mode click options and select show hidden features, then the hypervoice option shows up.

You're probably hitting the duty cycle limiter? It does double the duty cycle and it doesn't always make things better. It works good on my short on-time coils.

@@benjaminlockhart99 probably. the bass already sounds great because of the long on time, but going above 12% duty cycle for this coil will make it heat up too fast. I'm working on a huge coil that may be able to do 20-30% duty cycle, perhaps it'll sound good on that
