@@SLStablesEquestrian his ease and cutting style, quarters, and heft are so true to the breed my untrained eye would have thought, but his face is more "chiseled," and curved almost like an Arabian. He is stunning. Youve done a great job w him. The dance in his eyes at the work is a testament to his very satisfied conditions.

He gets a ton of soaked hay pellets since he can't chew that well. Also gets a bit of a ration balancer and some supplements 🥰

Where is this horse located? I have a barn mate who is about to lose her long time partner, a registered thoroughbred ex racehorse, & I have been told by our barn owner-trainer that she is looking to replace him with another thoroughbred. We are at a dressage barn, & our trainer is experienced all the way to Grand Prix. We are located in the Lansing-Jackson, Michigan area.

FYI... I use ... Deer and Rabbit Spray. In case you don't know, its a spray used as a repellant on garden plants and flowers to keep the critters from eating them. Its spells like dead .... something. The oder only lasts a few hours but the animals can smell it for days!. I have broken my horses habit of fence/ stall chewing with it, and now I don't even have to use it anymore. They just gave up the habit! Good Luck!

I mean...is it really that bad if they chew up a board or two of the fence? You'll have to replace it after a while, of course. But if it's stress relief or entertainment for them... that's like spending money on a toy or such. As long as they have a favorite spot and don't just randomly chew everywhere, I would just let them do it.

Thanks for all the suggestions! None of them are cribbers. Unfortunately the paddocks have been too wet for them to go out and they have become quite bored despite our best efforts of exercising and entertaining them 😅 One started biting chucks of wood off and the others have followed suit. Now they just enjoy licking all of the topical treatments we have tried to deter them.😂
