So how do I know what type of solution I need to use? Where can I buy it
@QuietNatureLtdAyr4 күн бұрын
You want to add a 10-12% solution. There are some places that sell at that strength, or buy 30% and dilute it down before adding to your pond.

Try the drug store variety 3% solution. Add a bit at a time and watch for the effects.

Thank you so much for this VDO. My lined pond is about 7,000 gallons - filtration system and waterfall - I have ducks geese & tilapia fish. I cannot grow any plants either in the pond or around it - the ducks and geese eat them all instantly. The water is the color of pea soup. I cannot see neither the fish nor the bottom of the pond. I have added some beneficial bacteria to the pond but hasn't made a difference in water clarity. If I add Hydrogen Peroxide, will it kill all the beneficial bacteria?
@QuietNatureLtdAyr4 күн бұрын
I'm not sure that HP will clear the pea soup water. Good filtration is needed or a UV system.
@virginiabird34474 күн бұрын
@@QuietNatureLtdAyr My filtration system is quite basic - no UV lights as I heard that it kiils all the good microorganisms as well. Got 200 tiny Talapia Fish - did not feed them a thing - they got big pretty fast, had lots of babies, ate all the algae in the water and the pond is crystal clear now!! We'll be eating some Talapia soonish just to keep the population under control. Very happy with the result 🙂

How to use hydrogen peroxide for algae in my waterlily tub? Its 40 litres tub. And what should be the maintenance dose and duration? I don't have fish in my tub. Only waterlily plants. Much Thanks

@3:45 he shows an image on construction, why would you use wood? Wouldn't stone work better, and that way you wouldn't have to worry about replacing it later?
@QuietNatureLtdAyr6 ай бұрын
That type of wood (larch) is extremely rot-resistant. Underwater, it will last for many decades.

Hi Regarding cleaning of the system. There could be a idea to lead the bottom of the regen zone to a point or points where simple cleanout can be conducted. Simmilar to koiponds or bogfilters. If the system clogs up, it could cause a surpluss of nutrients, with difficulty cleaning it out. Very nice and accessible pond. Eirik

Beautiful. Question. How many algae blooms did this pool have before running clear long term?
@QuietNatureLtdAyr8 ай бұрын
We fought algae for the first couple of seasons, primarily in the planted zone. There is still algae, but that's just how it works.

This is great. Have you ever put together a DIY checklist for the various components in case someone wanted to take this on themselves? Plants used, equipment, ratio of swim to regen region, structure/material used. This video does mention many items and a plant video I haven't found yet :). Great job!

I absolutely love it. But why not cover the plastic bottom with something? A flagstone or even gravel bottom would be so much nicer and it wouldn't that much more work to complete the pool. Is there some technical reason not to cover the water barrier?
@QuietNatureLtdAyr8 ай бұрын
We find the bare liner bottom much easier to clean. Rock seems to always build up with sediment and pond sludge and becomes very hard to clean.

More gardeners should have this in The tool bag as a safe and effective way to clean fish ponds and even treat diseased fish.
@eco_guardian Жыл бұрын
Its gorgeous. The only thing I see that is counter-productive is the returns are in the filtration zones. The will have the effect of pushing debris to the centre of the pool instead of drawing it into those zones. If you draw water out of those zones you draw debris into the filtration area, and the plants and microbes in those areas will decompose it naturally. Still its absolutely beautiful.

I have a mild algae problem and after trying algaecide and bale extract the problem remains. Pond contains approximately 550 gallons of water,it has an adequate pump to circulate the water through a waterfall, a biological filter, 4 small koi, 4 goldfish and a few water plants (planning to add more). I suspect the small pieces of moss I used to cover the liner that have fallen into the water are supplying nutrients for algae. I watched your video but at the time I had no access to 35% oxygen peroxide so I used 3% normally found at pharmacy at the rate just below the 1/2 cup per each 100 gallons and watched for about an hour but didn't see any bubbling nor improvements in water clarity. Just the other day I checked for nitrite, nitrate and ph levels and they all checked out.What's your take on my situation? Thanks
