Good to see you back... I have a couple of those new Tigers and they do like nice.. can't wait to build one . Those decals look interesting but scary. I've heard of them lifting off sometimes .. Not something you want happening at that stage of a build!! Yikes!
@SMAZVidoes2 күн бұрын
I just use a piece of old masking tape to lift the film off. For smaller decals I leave the film in place. VMS satin varnish makes the film disappear.

Finally! A new video. Good stuff, fellas. I've built one Special Hobby kit: The Bücker Bu-181 Bestmann. It was a pretty good kit. Detail was nice and came with a small bit of resin and PE. The lack of locating pins was no big deal since I often cut them off anyway to make a better mating surface and to aid in alignment... especially fuselage halves. The only challenge I ran into was the wing trailing edges. The mating surfaces came in contact slightly in from the very edge so it left a gap the length of the edge of the wing that took a bit of work. Hopefully some day you'll get that one on the bench in front of the camera. Keep on truckin', amigos!

Great idea for the road wheels. I do have a question about the back side of the road wheels on german armour. I've seen some modelers leave them in the red oxided colour. Is this right, or did they paint paint them like you have done. I tend to paint over the red oxided.

Thanks for sharing the modeling tips. After using air brush to spray Tamiya 87225, what cleaner do you use to clean the air brush? Thanks

Quick question, is it safe to airbrush without a facemask? I'm tempted to but worried of the potential risks

Yes please do more of these! My wife bought me an old Tamiya Marder kit at a garage sale for 2 dollars a few years ago. Thought I should put it together just because. Turned out really well, for me. Had a bunch of fun, did some camo and she appreciated a lot more than my other stuff. Thanks guys👍👍

Like most, I use Tamiya with reliable and predictable "chipping" success. However, if you don't put a gloss coat down over your base, before the hairspray, you can easily "chip" down to the bare plastic. Disastrous results. With Mission Models, I have had zero success with "chipping." What you get is the paint smearing and coming off. It is an interesting effect but not the true "chipping" you get with Tamiya.

There 's a Bedford QL truck ,left over from WW2 ,near where I live , just dumped in an abandoned factory yard ! Such a pity to see it just rusting away !! Pretty sure it was built in Canada as it has a Canadian Military Pattern back end !! Shame it couldn't be saved !

Try Mr Rapid thinner when doing camo and black basing.
@daveforest283 ай бұрын
Hi Johnathan - I find the rapid drying thinner makes the finish too "pebbly" and I want the finish to be as smooth as possible. I do find it good for spraying a flat clear finish though.
@jerryvolpini79873 ай бұрын
Tamiya acrylic and MLT thinner - sprays beautifully, no tip dry and self levelling - superb results! Stinky as hell, though, lol. Btw, I love these shorter videos - they cut to the chase! Describe a technique and demonstrate it in practice - lets us see it come together. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the banter but I just dont have the time. Not saying you have to do one or the other but mixing it up would be nice. 👍
