Hello. It is time for me to change my all season tiers. I'm driving Skoda Octavia Wagon, tyre size 225/45/17. I live in South East Euore, where we have hot summers and winters are mainly cold and rainy and sometimes with little snow. I'm a familiy man and I need a tayre that is good, relaible, good wear, performance also. I have narrowed to following tiers Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6, Continental Contact 2, Goodyear Vector Gen3 and CrossClimate 2. If I need to put them in order it should go something like this Continetal, Bridgestone, Goodyear, and CC2. Would you go for Conti or Bridgestone?

I am in the same situation as you, and from my research, bridgestone turanza all season, is the best and more balanced in the wet and in the dry, and the milage you can get out of them is pretty nice too, ( around 45.000km depending on how you drive/ horsepower and weight of your car) , continental is much better in snow, but the downfall is dry breaking and the one thats really my issue is aquaplaning. So basically if you dont expect to drive at deep snow more than once or twice per year bridgestone are a more logical option considering you are safer in terms of dry breaking and curved aquaplaning . I currently own the Michelin Crossclimate2 and i've been very satisfied with them , no issues at all, but i would like to give some other company a chance to test their product. I was between the Continentals and the Bridgestones. Pirelli and Goodyear make good tyres, but i don't like american brands cause i had a couple of issues with Dunlop tyres , and pirelli milage is not that good, and i do plenty of miles , so an extra 5.000-7.000 km that the bridgestones offer are appealing . The only reason i am considering the Continental is cause i am planning a trip to Scandinavia, and i would like to have as much safety in the snow as i can, but since the trip is not already booked, i think ill end up buying the Bridgestones. Sorry for the long comment i thought it might help . So all in all the "downfall" of the bridgestones is the snow performance, and the tread pattern doesnt seem sporty at all, as i can confirm from my michelins CC2 , i would love to go for the goodyears or the pirellis but as i said previously, i dont want american brand tyres and the italians are kinda sketchy sometimes too. Please let me know which tyre you ended up fitting and what you think of it !

@@MakTheSank Hello, I went with Conti 2. Final decision went on wear, 10k more then Bridgestone. Already made 3k with them. At the moment I'm happy with them. Probably next time I'll go with Bridgestone.

@@ArgosFuturecool, good to know ! i thought conti had 4-5.000 kilometers more than the bridgestone not 10 , but still more. Thanks for replying

@@MakTheSank You welcome. Yes, and price difference isn't to big on my market. Something like 10 euros per tyre.

When you compete in a slippery surface, the front grip is much more important. It’s fine when the rear slides, sliding helps turning. Detecting and fighting understeering is much harder than oversteering.
@davidkato64074 ай бұрын
In case you didn't notice he is talking about slippery conditions, so 99 percent of the time I am not driving in slippery conditions. Last year I drove twice in the rain and I slow down when I do. So you want me to be safer when it rains but not safer when it doesn't? Makes no sense at all, engineers think they know everything. I can take a set of worn out tires and out brake you and drive around a track 5 seconds a lap quicker and make you look stupid all day long but you want me to be safer in the rain for 6 hours of driving a year. Please stop telling people this.

All in all, understeer is easier to handle compared to oversteer
@cheesebusiness4 ай бұрын
No. When a regular driver faces understeering, they turn the steering wheel even more and slam the brakes, making the situation worse. On the other hand, fighting oversteering is intuitive, though regular drivers suck it too, because they react too slowly.

I would just ask which is more prevalent? Risk is severity x likelihood.
