I've been saying Slayton is a trade target for the Vikings for like a year and a half now, he's exactly the right level of player for the need we have. Hope we go after him.

There is nothing to report here. I dont want Hassan Reddick. I dont want any of the Browns 4-3 DTs. None of them. I haven't heard anything that's worth it. Still hoping jihad Ward and Jerry Tillery become the ideal game-wrecking 5tech they look like (visually) and Roy becomes an upgrade at NT. I KNOW its a long shot, but thats the kind of gamble KAM/KOC are willing to make on defense.....

Treylon Burks for a 5th would be interesting. A long outside WR3 for contested catches. UDFA Connor Williams is interesting if healthy.

Vikings should trade all of next year's picks away. They don't need draft picks, they'll just nail the UDFA signings. :P

Is anyone else tired of singing UFL players and 7th rd picks and the the Vikings expecting us to be excited about the trenches?
@LockedOnVikingsКүн бұрын
They've had the same OL for three years now, and they're coming off a top ten performance. I think your critique is more rooted in that. Nobody's asking you to be excited about the 7th round rookie in competition for a swing backup spot.

The offensive tackles are terrific. Theinterior spots remain a big YAWN. The defensive line has not been addressed in a meaningful way. Maybe 2025?

How many Viking fans would be unhappy if Cine and Booth were let go? Neither has contributed anything. Booth's success consists of a couple of practices in his rookie season and Cine can't even claim that. Outside of Demetrius Underwood who went AWOL almost immediately, I honestly can't remember a first round pick who showed so little promise. Even Treadwell was good enough to get snaps. Rick had some horrific drafts too, but there were some bad decisions made in that 22' draft that hopefully Kwesi learned from. I think it's trending in the right direction, but we'll see.

You are being EXTREMELY charitable to Kwesi when you dismiss his poor drafts by blaming the scouting department and defensive coordinator. Look at the list of current NFL general managers, many of them were immediately successful in the draft despite walking into similar situations. Kwesi's initial problem was his great mind - he thought himself right out of good decisions. This year's draft would be hard to screw up for anyone - with two high draft picks in the first round - but Kwesi did give up a lot in the process. In 2025, the Vikings only have a first rounder and two fifth round picks.

Jets after trading with Vikings "Free money!" Hilarious, Clownsi loses every trade. Even getting TJ Hockeson wasn't a great use of resources. Similar to trading so much for Turner, they are far from one player away. Without young cost controlled players team ends up top heavy. Lack of depth is a crucial issue...
@leonardshevlin72607 күн бұрын
It won't be his fault if Turner disappoints or McCarthy disappoints. Excuses will be made.

It's an open secret that every team is doing the same kinds of stuff the Falcons did. The falcons just made the mistake of saying the quiet part outloud. The anti-tampering rule is so they can go after the really egregious cases

@jimbo9210710 күн бұрын
Your main criticism of Darnold appears to be that he's so physically gifted, he just assumes he can walk out there and win. If that sounds familiar, it's the same criticism pundits now have of Caleb Williams. Why bother learning the playbook, when you can just go out there, play super sandlot hero ball, and maybe even win that way in the NFL? That also sounds like Fran Tarkington. Drove Norm Van Brocklin crazy, but Bud Grant loved it. Thing is, the whole offense has to buy into that style, and they have to practice scramble drills outside the called play. Will the Vikings do that for Darnold?
@LockedOnVikings9 күн бұрын
I didn't try to make it a criticism - it's an explanation for why things didn't work out in New York. Darnold did prefer to go schoolyard too much, but I don't know if that still applies now that he's entering his 7th season. That worked great for the odd outlier like Tark (or Mahomes) but that's because there was more method to their madness. The schoolyard thing gets a lot less cute on your 4th turnover of the night
