When the chinese come to EU, that will shake and wakup the western automobile to innovate and work harder. All these chinese goverment "pays" them to export etc is just BS. We do the same here, we subsidize R&D, build factory in our country etc. The chinese do the same, they even tells us that this incentives they learned from us. Yes, they can produce cheaper, because they can manufacture at mass production, the salary are reletavie lower then us, they are efficient, they have total eco-system in place.

the MX11 kinda looks like a Ferrari Purosangue with long bonnet and short cabin.... BUT it defeats the EV philosophy as Purosangue's long bonnet is to house the V12 engine... when MX11 has no engine under the hood so why sacrifice the cabin space just for the looks?? form should definitely follows function not the other way round...

in my opinion, the fact that stellantis sells any vehicles is a miracle with their reputation for support and quality. but how is it fair to compete against a company that is subsidised by a government.

Couple of things should be poinnted out. Data should be normalized against total number of ownership. While evs are less likely to catch fire you are also less likely(out of a random sample) to have someone who owns an ev. Also, in a crash, an ev is very likely to catch fire and very quickly. I see the argument on both sides here. I own an ev, but I feel people should be made aware of the potential downsides of these cars. Especially when it comes to safety. In a crash you must clear the area of an ev quickly.

SU7 is good car the only complaint people kept echoing how bluntly it copied Porsche, I hope they don't make same mistake. I think they can afford a new design.

Xiaomi apparently haven’t even made 100,000 cars yet in total. So buying a car from them is a bit of a risk. They can’t be experts at making cars yet.

Is guy in video working for the government propaganda department? Ev fires are far less common BUT when a fire does start in EV it can sink a cargo ship (google EV car fire sinks cargo ship 2023) Ev batteries enter thermal runaway and burn at 2500 degrees celcius and are nearly impossible to extinguish. Good luck extinguishing an ev fire that is parked in underground car park of tower block 😓

Im looking at the BYD Seagull. Pretty good option. I need an electric car ASAP but I need it to last long specially the batteries due I live in Spain and we have HOT summers (+40 degrees celcius). HOWEVER, most reviewers say that battery degradation is made mostly by bad charging practices like charging below 25% or over 80%. If you do lets say 50km per day then you should charge the car when it hits 75km left remaining.

I’m a fan of Hyundai, after owning an 2007 i30. Great car , comfortable, well made, reliable. I still regret having sold it. I too like flat folding rear seats, to camp in the car if need be. I like good head room in the rear. I think I prefer the inster.

Have to say, there’s a massive hole in the fire department stats argument, because there are far fewer ev’s out there than combustion engines. A better metric for comparison is fires per unit distance driven.
@TheChargeShow3 күн бұрын
Noooo, this data is per 1000 units sold, of either Hybrid, EV or ICE. So the the hole doesn't exist.

BYD is focused on growth and profit unlike some EV makers who are wasting billions on the CEOs pet projects that deliver zero profit. BYD doesn't even build concept cars, they develop fresh product in an agile method and get it to market while it still matters. No matter what you think of the cars they are making all the right moves.
@Skibber8 күн бұрын
I don't understand why we are forced to buy EV's with the bad NMC batteries. Kia produces EV3's with LFP batteries for the Chinese market. I would much prefer an LFP battery because I don't need the extra energy density. I would rather like a more robust and safe LFP battery.

BYD Seagull looks... bland? I've noticed that with most Chinees EV: they aren't bad looking, but they lack character. In any case, range and internal space are more important for me. Hyundai Inster is based on a k-car. I've driven Hyundai k before and they do know how to utilize its limited volume efficiently

in china BYD provides another compact SUV called Yuan up(元up), whose size is between Yuan plus and seagull,and same level as dolphin but it is a suv not hatchback. but its selling is not as good as seagull. in china, seagull, dolphin, Yuan plus are sold very well. Yuan up is a buget car, 30% more expensive than seagull, a bit more room but for most urban users, seagull is still the most suitable car. but if someday byd fit its hybrid system inside Yuan up, it may be more favorable. hybrid system seems to big to fit in seagull.

You are definitely NOT a BYD hater. That's for sure. I've watched 2 or 3 of your videos before to know that no-one would GENUINELY think you are a BYD hater. So my conclusion is these people are NOT real. ------------ In case you haven't yet noticed, there are China-haters out there pretending to be Chinese or pretending to side with China. And all they do is attack people who genuinely speak well of China or Chinese. If you like debates and read a lot of comments like I do, you'll see them. They normally do 2 things : (1) They exaggerate genuinely good things about China to the point where the original good news becomes non- believable. (2) They nitpick and attack those who genuinely think well of China

What you mean is "Tesla forwarded the tariff amount imposed on them to the consumer, maintaining their margin"? Which is essentially The effect anticipated irrespective of manufacturer? I would point out that Tesla always varies price as their COGS varies..... Both ways. What SHOULD be the Headline? "Tariffs imposed by "Government" on certain products and manufacturers have increased the cost to the consumer of those products" Is the money not going into the Coffers of said Government?

Happy for you to reinforce your objective assessment of BYD as being a quality vehicle. But please, keep your Western politics away from your talks on cars. President Xi is perfectly entitled to get on with Putin or whoever else he wants. I am not interested in knowing your views on either of them - nor on the war in Donbas. Start another channel if you want to flaunt your willingness to naively swallow Western media narratives whole, and propagate them. Please, stick with what you do well, and talk about cars. Keep your politics for your mates down the pub.
