I just rode a 883 for first time in 20 years today. My first bike was a 883 back in 2003. Bought it new. I had more fun on that bike than any big twin I’ve had. Of course my heritage softail rides better and way better on long rides . But for just pure fun on a twisty road a 883 is an absolute blast ! The engine power isn’t all that much but it’s fast enough to get you killed

I think the roadmaster is the way to go. All the extras for cruising, and motor you can work on and basically a bike you can do whatever too. Remove lowers or leave on. Remove trunk or leave on. Nice tourer or a nice bagger. Swiss Army knife. The challenger platform is more performance. But just to change the air filter you got to remove the gas tank. Too much work. But some people like to turn those wrenches. To each their own. Nice review. 👍🏻😎

I have a 2016 Eldorado. Really love this bike. The engine is overbuilt and a joy to service. Modern bikes use shim under bucket valve adjustments which means taking out the cams, measuring the shims etc. Real pain in the neck. This bike has the old screw and lock adjusters. Very easy. Here is a tip for adjusting valves. I watched a video like yours of a guy who instead of jacking up the rear tire and turning it to set the valves in the proper position did this. Put the bike in neutral. On the front of the engine between the two horns is a rubber plug. Remove plug. put a i think 23mm socket on the Alternator bolt and turn the engine over that way. Doing your own service can save you 500$. Instead of ordering oil from Italy, Napa has the 10w 60w oil there. Another trick. When buying oil for the Transmission and drive shaft differential, remember this: What we call the Transmission, the Italians call it the gear box. What we call the driveshaft differential, they call it the transmission. Those Italians:) One uses a GL4 type and the other uses a GL5 type gear oil. As far as ABS and traction control are concerned. If you have any serious problems with it, you'll either have to buy an On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) or take it to the shop.

Since buying my Eldorado, I've been very impressed with the quality and also the story behind the Moto Guzzi. It not only is a joy to ride, but feels like a genuine honor to be part of a storied legacy.

Danger you should def clean both sides of rear disc with brake cleaner after you have cleaned and lubed the chain There will no doubt be some level of contamination after cleaning and lubing 👏👏👏👍

So Is the squealing/whining coming from the engine normal? I just bought one and it drives me kinda nuts lol. Especially since idk if something’s wrong or if that’s just how to engine sounds
@thatoneguymoto3 күн бұрын
I did not hear a whining or squealing from the engine. Maybe check with the dealer to see if there's an issue?
@Hutch_x3 күн бұрын
At 1:09 you can hear what sounds like a whine when accelerating. I think it’s just the sound of the engine but I’m going in for an oil change next week and they’re gonna look at it then

Greetings, As always another brilliant detailed video production 🇺🇲🍾🎉🇺🇲 How many miles on your new motorcycle? I am about to purchase one with 15000miles, do you think is too many miles for a moto guzzi eldorado, thank you so much for assisting me and keep producing more videos about the moto guzzi.
@thatoneguymotoАй бұрын
I've ridden about 1,000 miles on it it, and bought it with only 1,200 miles. For an 8 year-old bike that's incredibly low and I don't think 15K is a lot for any motorcycle. Of course, you'll want to inspect it and if the owner has service records you'll want to get those, but I've bought a few bikes with around that many miles on them and they've all been fine.

Plus side: V-Engine 1200 + cc Shaft drive Big torque Simple looking isingle nstrument Only Italian Brand that is cool Looks cool Negative: Not V4 (but well, it's a Guzzi) Wrong orientation of the V engine (but well, it's a Guzzi) It has drive modes The instrument is digital not analog Nice bike though. Me riding the 1700 VMax probably the same way like it was an Eldorado or a California, not as a streetfighter or muscle bike nor dragster. I love the endless torque at relaxed riding but occasionally I pull the throttle hard.

250cc, 650cc, 800cc and now just about to buy my first “big” bike, an M109r at 1800cc 8). It feels so much like being a learner again, finding that friction zone, pushing a little harder to get to lean because of that massive rear tyre, planning turns again because the bike is longer, planning where to stop again because with the width, I can only just get my toes down on both sides, so slipping my butt off the the left a little if there’s a slope. To be honest, the extra power is almost the least complex new thing. 😊 oh and gearing, the thing will easily break all local speed limits in second gear, and the massive pistons take a lot more time to slow down, so making the gear changes just a little slower smooths things out.

Cool bike. The only thing I would want to "switch" to are chrome wire spoke wheels. IMO the wheels on the Switchback are not at all attractive. I used to think the same thing about the Sportglide, though its wheels are really not bad, just a bit too much for my taste. P.S. If you can, you should keep it as a 'workhorse,' everyday bike.

The 5th gear on the 60 and the 6th gear on the Scout are the same final gear ratio. The normal Scout has the same gear ratio in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and 6th gear as the 60. The 5th gear on the normal Scout is an in between gear ration of the 60's 4th and 5th gear.

I can never relate to people's enthusiasm for the complete (or near complete) lack of vibration in a bike. I ride a Sportster 1200 and if it ever lost its "shake," I'd lose it (the bike) ! And if and when I buy another bike, the only thing that is certain is that it will not be 'smooth' . . . pretty much a certainty given it would almost certainly be a Dyna or pre-18 Softail. Long live the SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE !
@thatoneguymotoАй бұрын
The only bikes devoid of any rumble are going to be electric. I am not anti shake at all. I've had three Sportsters and two Dynas. The Eldorado is super smooth at speed but is not without vibration. With the Milwaukee Eight's excellent counterbalancing, I think the current bikes with the best rumble are the Indians with the Thunderstroke 116.
