I was excited for Tiana's Bayou Adventure because I thought it was going to follow the events of the movie. But when I saw the official video of the ride I was very disappointed and underwhelmed. There's no Dr. Facilier or even his spirit or a tombstone of him. There was no "Friends on the Other Side" at the big drop off. And no pink flamingos and no song "When we're human". Also why is the story sequel about Tiana inviting guests to her party to be the missing ingredient which is a very boring Disney Junior and Hallmark or Food Network cliche predictable story. No conflict, no tension buildup. I'm planning on going to Disneyland to try out this unfinished beta ride and if the Disneyland Imagineers do not improve this ride and put in the "Friends on the other side song" I'll be disappointed and I'll skip the ride on my next Disneyland trip. I'd rather go on the awful spinning Teacup ride or Autopia ride than go on the underwhelming boring Tiana's Bayou Adventure beta ride.

Have you only seen the first? Wow, you've been missing out! See them all (except the Alien vs. Predator stuff, and prepare for #4 being.. not so good). The latest two were very divisive, as they stray from the "canon" of the first, but they are great, and Alvarez, bless his soul, promises ties to those last two, which I love. This is gonna be good.

This film is based on Wicked: The Life and Times of The Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire which came out in 1995, 2 years before Harry Potter. This is also an adaptation of the Stage Version of Wicked. I suggest you do your research before watching. Both Wicked the Musical and the Novel are based on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum from 1900 and the Film The Wizard of Oz from 1939. This is split into 2 films. The 1st film is based on the 1st Act of the Show. The 2nd Film is based on the 2nd act, Which takes place at the same time as The Wizard of Oz.

You know nothing. 'Wicked' will SHINE at the box office. This is something us fans of the musical have been waiting for a very long time. And you can't go wrong with leads like Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande. Both of them are gonna be sensational as Elphaba (The Wicked Witch) and Galinda (with a GA). And you've got other big names like Jonathan Bailey (Fiyero), Peter Dinklage (Dr. Dillamond) and Jeff Goldblum (The Wizard). It's also a story with twists and turns and great songs. 'Wicked' is gonna kick serious butt in theaters and we'll all be waiting with a big steaming bowl of 'Told you so' when it does.

I assume you have seen the classic 1939 MGM Wizard of Oz? And you probably know it is based on the 1900 book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the first of 14 books written by L.Frank Baum, with additional books written afterwards. The green witch in Wicked is based on Margaret Hamilton's performance, and costume, from the MGM movie, not the drawings in the book. Literally the very first book I ever read was the third in the series, Ozma of Oz, and only saw the movie years later, when it started being shown on tv once a year. I did go on to read a lot of the other Baum books. In many ways, the movie and books are quite different. I feel not that one version is so much better than the other but both great in their own way. The books are all in the public domain and so can be found, complete with the original illustrations (showing how the author envisioned his characters) on line. Baum's three companions to Dorothy were NOT dressed-up humans. The lion was an actual lion, the scarecrow and tin woodsman quite weird if you are only familiar with the movie version. Disney made Return to Oz, based on the second and third books, and this adheres VERY closely to the books. However, many viewers were taken aback as the books are a lot darker than the MGM musical. (Yet at the time when he was writing, Baum was beseeched by hundreds of children writing him and telling him how much they enjoyed his books.) Each version of the Oz story seems to find a new way to interpret it, diverging in all different ways. What I see in the trailer has little resemblance of my vision of Oz, which might be good or might be bad. Or might just be different, the way Cinderella or Pinocchio have inspired different ways of telling their story. (Or the way we have Winnie The Pooh, Blood & Honey or Pride & Prejudice and Zombies, a totally different envisioning of a familiar story.) What I see in this trailer is something that looks so over CGI'ed, a problem I found with Disney's Oz, The Great & Powerful. Just a personal taste. I hope you get a chance to at least look at the original illustrations (type the name in Google and just each by itself will pop up_ And would love to see you react to Return to Oz
