As a full time traveling family we also like video based and online curriculums. Thank you so much! This was so helpful!

We generally use Math Mammoth as a spine for Maths and we wish to continue it too. But I also wanted to see if We can incorporate Beast academy as our supplementary online Math work. I do not wish to buy any more textbooks for her. But wanted to understand if Beast academy would be good as an online platform? What I mean to ask is are the physical books better or have more problems in them per chapter or is the online one better or same. Beacuse if they are same I will be interested to test them out this summer with my daughter.

There is about the same number of problems in book and online. You can definitely use it as a supplement. Especially using the math puzzles in the lab.

I would suggest you look into prek3 and prek4 from critical thinking company for math and then their kindergarten program for math k ... the book series is mathematical reasoning...if you need a further bridge I would highly recommend Miquon Math it is a 1st to 3rd grade Math curriculum

The curiosity chronicles appears to be the most fun and engaging of the three. My kiddo is 12 but we have not done the Ancient world yet, do you think it will be okay for him?
@thehomeschoolfamily
@thehomeschoolfamily 10 ай бұрын
I think it's a great choice for a 12year old. If a chapter sparks his/her interest they can dig dipper, and get some extra library books on that subject, but it will give him a great overview of ancient history. That's all they need at that age.

I believe Voyage is the third level of MCT. We loved using the fullIsland level. But I think this year we will try just doing Grammar Town and Paragraph Town.

Yes, we did. We really like it. We used it last year, but my son really likes science, and wants to do it every day. There is just not enough material to last a whole year. He already watched almost all the videos for 6-8th grade.

For Grade 1 whats the best online curriculum would you recommend as my child doenst have much interest with books?
@thehomeschoolfamily
@thehomeschoolfamily Жыл бұрын
We tried a lot of online curriculums with my older son, since he is not doing good with books. If you want all in one, Miacademy was a good curriculums and my kids enjoyed it for a while. They did not like IXL. Night Zookeeper would also not be a good fit for a 1st grader. If you want to pick and choose- we love Mystery Science, Prodigy Math and English are fun. Teach your Monster to Read is great. Beast Academy is great if your child is advanced in math, otherwise I would not use it for 1st grade. We use mostly BrainPOP for social studies.

Nice coverage of some good curriculum. With five kids, we've used most of them at one point or another. Reading Eggs really is a full curriculum- there is a lesson planning section with daily lesson plans with activities and worksheets that correspond to the online digital lessons and activities. We used it for a couple of months as a supplement before I discovered that section and we ended up using it for over a year as a whole curriculum for reading and math. Now we are back to using it as a supplement since one of my children is dyslexic. For her and another child with visual processing difficulties, Logic of English gave them the most success. The key with LOE is you don't usually do a whole lesson in one day. You pick the activities that most fit your child's learning style and skip the rest of save it for the next day.
