My favorite thing about this game was the fact you could mount your fallen enemy and punch the hell out their faces. Hadn’t seen anything like that as a kid back in the day.
@Palendrome24 күн бұрын
A feature that was extremely underutilized, even though it was in the foundational beatemup. Crazy because it helps the flow so much. Slowest part of beatemups is waiting for the enemies to get up. Kunio never had that problem from the start

Awesome! I’ve liked Kiss since 1977! Truthfully, I’m more of an Ace Frehley fan really, but I love the band too.

I had a fever dream about building arcade vs cabinet with pinball controls for nes pinball. I guess you could throw the rest of the nes pinball games in there as well. Seems like it would be more fun leaning over with your hands to the sides like on a real machine. Great channel love the videos and keep it up.
@ClassicGamer742 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind words. I have been wrestling with the idea of building s cabinet myself. I was thinking about just a multicadw or maybe incorporating arcade and vintage game consoles.

IMHO, the best NES arcade port of all time was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II. Incredible work given the NES hardware limitations.

The Contra, or Gryzor, question is a quick way of checking someones nationality. If you think its a NES game you are almost certainly from North America. Don't you mean Gryzor makes you japanese, or a poser and if you answer 'Do you mean the SNES/MD game?' you're European, as we didn't do Consoles until the 90s.
@megamix54032 ай бұрын
It was still called Contra in Japan. And I believe you guys called it Probotector lol Don't act like you know it all.
@RetroProg2 ай бұрын
@@megamix5403 It was called Gryzor in Japan and only the 16 bit games were called probotector as Contra was deemed improper at the time but we did a lot of importing back then as the gaps between NA and EU releases was months, if it happened at all. People laugh at the prices neo-geo games were sold at but I was selling Final Fantasy 3 (6) for $150 and Street Fighter 2 for $180. Also, it was a light-hearted aside, as he said his friends thought it was a NES game first.

In grade 4 (1990-91) I would go in early to use the Apple IIe. I recall playing The Pond and The Factory, and perhaps Puzzle Tanks. I have a platinum IIe and managed to find working copies of the first and third, but they’re copy protected so I’m unable to make backups.

I have been different version of DigDug via emulation the last few days: the arcade original, Atari 8-bit, 2600, 7800, Intellivision, etc. Although some versions are better than others, they are all playable. Another arcade classic that would make for a good comparison between all the different versions is Q*bert!
