Loving the video tutorials you are producing. Can't wait to try out more of your tools in the future. I already own loads, but am finding the price of other brands very restrictive. Also your sharpening methods pay off because your tools come with better grinds than much more expensive tools. Even if honing needs to happen more often it's still a time saver (especially with your great strops which for some reason I got for free, so thank you!).

If you use gouges, this product saves you so much heartache it's insane. I own a flexcut strop, which in all honesty is great, but very pricey. Beavercraft clearly listen to their customers and actual woodworkers when they come up with their products because curved tools have steep learning curve in terms of sharpening. Save yourself the frustration and get this! Why bigger companies don't do this already is a mystery, but im happy Beavercraft beat them to it.

Looking forward to Beavercraft branching out into making more styles of tools like bushcraft knives. I own many tools made by them and am a huge fan. Incredibly affordable and dedicated to good customer service.

A company very reminiscent of the quality produced by Mora or Kirschen, but even cheaper. The grind on the tools is great and in my experience ready to use out of the box, which is crazy if you know anything about woodworking tools.

I adore these tutorials Beavercraft is putting out. I am such a big fan of their tools. Not an affiliate or paid sponsor, just a giddy customer happy to share my experience. Great company with great customer service and fantastic tools for the price. I even got my wife into carving thanks to them.

Very good tools. I own many and am still impressed by the quality. A big bonus is that Beavercraft pay good attention to the grind which means you can put the tools to work quickly without hours of work reprofiling them. I own much more expensive tools that took so much time to regrind that I felt cheated. You should always sharpen tools anyway so for the price I believe Beavercraft saved me time, money and frustration. Excellent company.

I love the tutorials Beavercraft are putting out. Very useful for beginners. I have bought many tools from them and every single time the customer service has been impeccable. Helpful, personable and the quality is very good for the price. I use my Beavercraft knives, chisels and gauges on a daily basis and am very happy. Are they peak quality? No, they are affordable and tools designed for work. They are accessible and with their great sharpening accessories which I often got for free you can keep the edges keen and yield results just as good as very expensive tools. I'm a huge fan working on a tight budget and can genuinely not say enough about how much I appreciate these tools for allowing me to pursue my passion for woodworking.
@mihaimilan9598Күн бұрын
And just to mention, they come actually sharp. I have bought German made tools that are very expensive and they needed hours of work before they could be used. Beavercraft tools have a good edge on them that needs honing and polishing only in my experience. Very reminiscent of Mora of Sweden. The handles could be better, but for the price I can't imagine how they make it work in the first place. But considering they are woodworking tools, make your own handle using them and replace the factory one.
@mihaimilan9598Күн бұрын
I own a few of the beavercraft tools and have to say that both their customer service and tools are great. The tools are not peak quality but are very affordable and excellent for getting things done. If you're not averse to sharpening then they'll do just as good of a job as tools 2 or 3 times the price. Support a good company staying alive under very difficult circumstances.

If u heat the strop with a hair dryer u can remove old compound easier and reload it faster with quite an even cover.

It's weird that the strip of leather is called a strop. You're not impressing anyone with your strop. It's a strip.
@lindboknifeandtool4 күн бұрын
You know what would satisfy you? Glue😂 My strop is a block of wood 🥴🤡 impressed?
@mihaimilan9598Күн бұрын
A waist belt can be strop too. A strop is a leather, cork, wood or soft material strip used for removing the burr formed by sharpening and polishing the edge of a blade.
@J.s1h24 күн бұрын
Does this work for conventional knives and chisels too?
@mihaimilan9598Күн бұрын
Yes, they do. If you use gouges then this helps a lot. Curved tools are not easy to sharpen and you definitely need to practice, but having a honing tool that matches the curve gives you that keen edge you're looking for. You want curls not chunks coming out of your work piece and having a polished edge may seem superfluous, but it genuinely isn't. A high grit stone is also very useful. I use up to 8000 grit and it really helps. Pricey but worth it. The strop puts the finishing touch and makes the tool a delight to use.

What about the inside burr made by the strop and coumpound?
@pumpkinhead0024 күн бұрын
It will fall off with the first cut in the wood
@mihaimilan9598Күн бұрын
There is no inside burr because a strop is for polishing not sharpening. The burr forms during sharpening.
