Girl you are just too much. This is just too cute. I can’t draw a lick, that’s why I watch you. I’ve gotten out of the coloring book habit and just do PDF’s that I get from Esty. I’m not sure, but can I use pastel and Charcoal pencils on mix media paper and would I have to use a fixative so it doesn’t smear? I always enjoy your lives. Keep up the good work. ❤😊👍

Hello Tommie, you are too, too kind. Yes you can use pastels and charcoal on Mixed Media paper, but you will have limited layers to work on, and yes you will have to use fixative as well, but that's what mixed media is all about! to use with various mediums all at once. Thank you so much for watching and always appreciate your time. Kind regards Chrissy

It was great listening to this while I painted along with you! Too bad I missed the live stream, although I can’t participate anyway because I’m visually impaired and my reader can’t keep up with the chat! Lol so just some thoughts while listening: I use an X-Acto knife to gently scrape away mistakes They’re usually not huge mistakes, but enough to cause a problem if they got smeared in with the rest of the pastel… Once I scrape it away, you can just paint right back on top of it and it’s usually covered. I also use the blade to soften edges, and in something like eyebrows, it’s really a good compliment :-) Also, there’s a brand that came to mind when you were saying, “what isn’t expensive?“ And to me, they are a wonderful find and a good alternative to the expensive brands or when you just don’t want to eat up your good ones :-) it is Mont Marte Signature oil pastels. The only come in 48 though. They also have extra soft, which I don’t find to be as pleasurable to work with. But some people prefer that texture, such as the case with oil pastels, right? We all have our texture preferences! But I really enjoy SENNELIER for certain things, and caran dache for other things… Anyway, I just wanted to leave you some comments because I really enjoyed your commentary and your process! :-)

Hi Julie, thank you for watching and your query. I store my pastels in groups of colours in a mechanic's tool box. It's been working well for me. I can't attach photos here, but if you email me, I will attach pics of how they look in my toolboxes. Again thank you for watching and be creative.😍

Absolutely gorgeous! I'm doing a summer focus on soft pastels and am learning so much from your channel, thank you for sharing. May I please ask 1. How do you clean the brushes that you use with the Pan Pastels? And 2. What do you use to transfer your design to the Pastelmat, or to draw straight on? Thank you in advance! 🙂
@Xrissart
@Xrissart Ай бұрын
Hi Restlessmuse, my apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I clean my brushes with a brush cleaner, but you can use warm soapy water, thoroughly rinse and let them air dry naturally. I like to use transfer paper by X-Press It. Thank you so much for watching and so glad you're getting value out of the channel. Happy Painting and regards Chrissy

I saw this advertised at Adamstown Art in the Newcastle area (NSW). I am not overly impressed with the results for my type of work, and would still prefer the liquid for fine details, but I could see how it could be useful for larger areas, if you masked the edges with liquid then masked the rest in case of accidental overflow.

Turner makes acrylic gouache and “designer’s gouache” which is the traditional watercolor gouache. Himi is garbage, get the Turner in the designer’s gouache; you’ll be much happier with them…. thank you for sharing! I’ve been very curious about the Pastelbord, I love the gesso and clay bords. Thanks again! 🌷
