The electoral college disenfranchises most Americans from having an impact in presidential elections. The two parties, in conjunction with the media (red or blue) make it impossible for alternate parties to rise. Having only 2 major parties is not enough to have democracy; it is, however, the perfect number of parties to keep the citizens divided. Still believing that voting changes things is naive.
