personally i would have rented a 5 bag sandblast pot and a few bags of black beauty and brush blasted the whole roof then blew it off with the blast hose to clean it. then rolled a good coat of iron oxide primer on it followed 2 days later by rolling a coat of white hi-gloss industrial enamel on it. you would have to come back 8 years later and wash it off with a powerwasher and soap , let it dry ,then roll one more coat of white industrial enamel on it to make sure you would get another 15 years out of it. the white reflects the suns heat and makes it much cooler under there in summers, and the hi gloss enamel makes snow and rain&dirt run off fast as it does off a cars finish. if you wanted to get 30 years out of it you could rent a sprayer and spray the underside with iron oxide when you primed the top.. no need to put finish coat under there.

I'm torn between the Premier 1 PRS Pro 100 and the Gallagher S100. They're priced similarly, but the Gallagher doesn't include the ground rod or tester like the Premier 1 does. Can you please weigh in?

@tillmanfamilyfarm7759 Thanks! I actually picked up the Gallagher from my local farm store yesterday. That said, I was initially sold on the Starkline fencing based on your review, but ultimately went with Premier 1 for the following reasons: 1. Starkline now costs as much or more for their "premium" fencing. 2. Our soil is incredibly rocky, and I wanted drivable posts. I really wish Starkline could have maintained a lower price point.

Just want to say thank you for sharing your experiences and discounts particularly wrt electric netting. We run our own family regenerative farm in the Caribbean and have a perennial problem with feral/stray dogs wreaking havoc on the chickens. Of course initially, all fingers pointed to Premier 1 until checkout where they didn't accept international credit cards. I contacted them and was surprised by the dismissive attitude towards international customers and export orders. I don't think Premier 1 appreciate yet how interwoven the international regenerative/homestead community has become. In pursuing alternative suppliers I came across your comparison video which clarified many of my concerns. I was amazed at the "stark" difference in customer service and appreciation and look forward to a long term relationship with Starkline products. Needless to say we pulled the trigger on our opening order and you need to know that on foreign orders your shared 10% discount is substantial and highly appreciated. Once the netting works as expected we intend to expand into sheep and pigs next year. Thanks again for your virtue of sharing and we pray for God's continued blessings of abundance on your family.

Very well done video. I appreciate honest no-nonsense reviews. I purchased an American Farmer 10 mile solar unit. Thought it was an oversight that the clips weren't with the unit. Now I will have to do another 30 mile trip to get what should have been included. Not a good start. If I have the problems you have had with the 5 mile unit I may solve it by burying the unit in a landfill or use it as a brush pile fire starter.

We just did our first batch of American Bresse this morning. We hope to be able to use them as a dual-purpose bird going forward. I'll be parting them out this afternoon and freezing tomorrow and will let you know how we like the taste and weights. We'll probably do 20 or so Cornish Cross this summer to get us through until the Bresse get laying good. We have the same plucker and haven't had an issue...yet.

@tillmanfamilyfarm7759 we processed 10 roosters and just fried one up tonight. Excellent flavor and texture and better than Cornish cross, IMO. They seem very leggy, with the drumstick being at least 1" longer than "normal." Weights were in the 4.5# range, which is exactly what I wanted to see. The big drawback, of course, is that it takes 16 weeks to harvest, but they can free-range rather than being in the tractors. We hope they do a good job as layers, but that will be a few weeks out. If I do the Cornish again, I will harvest around 6 weeks and try to have 5# be my biggest birds. I really didn't like the 6#+ birds. They reminded me of Walmart chickens. Huge but tough. Once we get some solid egg production, I'll be glad to get you a few dozen hatching eggs if you want to try them. These came from North Star Farms in NC. Pricey birds, but, so far, at least, they have lived up to their billing.
