So beautiful! Our youth musical group performed "Celebrate Life" 45 years ago. I still remember the words. Thank you for the memories!

I love the tempo this organist/conductor too this piece. I have accompanied this as an organist many times and each time it seemed rushed because the conductor takes it at 'warp speed'. This performance is great and their musicianship shows.

Beautiful! I, too, sang this solo in 1979. The lyrics are wonderful. He is the Friend of the friendless and hope of the hopeless. Amen. I pray these young people are leading blessed lives in the Lord Jesus. Amen.
I heard this song for the 1st time in 1981 it was used in our Catholic School production of the Passion of Christ at Easter...it made me cry uncontrollably. I've searched for it ever since..no one knew the song I was referring to...last week I thought about it again..I guess with Easter rite around the corner I thought of it again an thought maybe if I sang it to Google...well who knows..and I FOUND IT....40 yrs later it still does the same thing...makes me cry 😢...most beautiful song I have ever heard ❤...Happy Easter Jesus....Thankyou my Lord...Amen

the score has 126 if anything this is slightly slow. Nice to hear the quaver thirds on the manuals clearly for a change

Shouldn't have turned down that Bombard 32" after 4:44. I was enjoying the vibrations :-) Nicely done.

When I first heard this it made me think of a Baptist version of Ave Maria... I know that sounds negative but I don't mean it that way - it is a lovely song and by far the best thing out of Celebrate Life other than I Quietly Turned to You - which is equally nice.

Beautiful job. I did not expect such a rich, full head voice! It made me literally stop what I was doing to appreciate the vocal tone. Congrats on the whistle register as well.

Brings back so many wonderful memories of youth choir and especially two of my old youth ministers who are no longer with us. They are directing heaven's choir now. God bless you Bob Williamson and Rick Dodd. You made such a difference in a young teenage girl's life.

Before the throne of God above I have a strong and perfect plea A great High Priest whose name is love Who ever lives and pleads for me My name is graven on His hands My name is written on His heart I know that while in heav'n He stands No tongue can bid me thence depart No tongue can bid me thence depart When Satan tempts me to despair And tells me of the guilt within Upward I look and see Him there Who made an end of all my sin Because the sinless Savior died My sinful soul is counted free For God the Just is satisfied To look on Him and pardon me To look on Him and pardon me Behold Him there, the risen Lamb My perfect, spotless Righteousness The great unchangeable I AM The King of glory and of grace One with Himself, I cannot die My soul is purchased by His blood My life is hid with Christ on high With Christ my Savior and my God One with Himself, I cannot die My soul is purchased by His blood My life is hid with Christ on high With Christ my Savior and my God With Christ my Savior and my God With Christ my Savior and my God

That is exactly what I thought. Being a HUGE fan of the Pipe Organ and knowing dozen of world renowned Concert Organist and to know how much practice it takes to play the music your listening to and talk while he is playing is Beyond Rude! The congregation sat through the sermon so what's 5 or less minutes going to do. Shame on the congregation members. BRAVO on a great smashing performance!

He sang this today at the NPC Patriotic Concert. With the choir and an orchestra. They dedicated it to all that were affected by the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas tragedy. I cried my eyes out it was so beautiful.

What song was the flautist playing? Parts of it sounded like the theme from Love Story. I'm sorry but the flute is not the instrument to use for this Hymn, it's not beefy enough. The flute is more of a happy instrument and this is not a happy Hymn. I think of this Hymn as more of a funeral march. I guess it's all about interpretation but I think this interpretation has gone way off the charts. How can you say the arrangement is by Bach? It sounds nothing like Bach's arrangement.
@jpook7304 жыл бұрын
It's an arrangement by Jay Rouse, originally for violin and piano. It sounds impossibly beautiful with violin and piano, but I have to disagree on the flute- I think it sounds lovely. The organ is a nice touch here, too. :) At any rate, a pretty challenging piece to conduct, but so well worth it in the end. I've had the privilege of leading two choirs in this arrangement, and it's always an incredibly moving experience.
