Next time, it's well worth it to finish the white trail! It leads all the way to Mills Mansion, and then you can hike the blue trail back, which has the long-abandoned Hoyt House. Last time I was there they were working on restoring the viewpoints. Would be worth it to check out the sunset from there. Hopefully they'll open the house to the public one day, but it's only accessible on foot so maybe not .. I haven't done any biking back there, but I think the blue trail would be much easier.

I recently got a new gaming PC and my local Best Buy has everything I need and their prices are pretty competitive to Amazon. Although if I did not have the new PC then yeah, I would have little interest in shopping there.

For a second there I thought the Sony guy was going to be sales man of the year and tell you about all those new hidden features in the newer camera that you didn't even know about !

No offense but this is what is the problem with consumers. Don’t get me wrong I find it wild you can’t call a store and agree that you should be able to call. The team member could have responded to AP and then got stopped by 2 other customers on the way, that’s poor communication though on their part. As for how the manager, they could have been having a bad day but also they can’t just make a camera appear so I’m not sure what you wanted done with that. She could have compensated you a little bit like 20 dollars off a different camera but they have to protect their bottom line the same way I’m sure you have to do something similar in your line of work. Also sounds like you were going in for a deal so you wouldn’t have bought anything more expensive. Boxes not in the glass cases is based on location of the store and recent theft in the area. There is a thing called smash and grabs where people run in, smash the case and steal everything in it and run out. You could have been in an area where that has been happening recently. Retail is actually a very difficult business to work in and manage. I’d imagine Best Buy has over 30,000 eaches in that store so at time, inventory can get off. No matter what, it’s human error, could be on the distribution centers side or on store side. Writing an email to the CEO who makes millions of dollars won’t get you anywhere, In any business. They have far to much going on to worry about a camera that they are not making full mark up as is. Best Buy will be around for a long time. If you can’t find the camera, I’d suggest you purchase used or online somewhere. They sell open box cameras all over the internet. Again not trying to be rude but this video putting all these people on blast is crazy and absolutely unnecessary in my opinion.

Best Buy won't die - it will live on in Minnesota solely. Stores should stay in the states they start in.

I mean they have limited stuff in the store compared to shopping online. Every time I go into a Best Buy its pretty dead and they seem to have cut back on the amount of stuff they have on the shelves. I sort of get the same vibe that I got with Fry's electronics as they were on there way out. Times have changed and many people are just not able to buy all that cool stuff that they used to. Online shopping is also putting a real hurt on brick and mortar stores. Look at hobby gamming stores for example. There are only a few around now. Between tec and online shopping many other stores will be in the same situation very soon.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but couldn't you have bought it online and did an in-store pickup? Check it out when you pick it up and return it right then if you didn't like it?

I recently bought a $2k treadmil from Best Buy in May and I also bought a $2k laptop a couple weeks ago. I never once touched the item before hand, never saw the items in person. Best Buy shipped both items to my door within 2 days. Never had to wait for anyone to find anything, never wasted time driving. I know you mentioned you like to see the item and feel the items before you spend $600 bucks. But dude, save yourself the trouble and just have stuff shipped and if you don't like it then return to the store and save yourself all this headache. The CEO is going read your email and reply back "shipping is free". Everything you went through sounds exhausting. I love Best buy and I promise it's even better if you just have it shipped.

My worst experience with Best Buy was a couple months ago. I went to go buy 2 18TB HDDs they had on sale. I purchased them and when I got home one of them was already open with time on the drive and the other was sealed but the drive was swapped for a old 500GB HDD. I take it back to Best Buy and tell them I want to exchange. The lady at the counter proceeds and refunds the card instead. So now I have to put out another $600+ while waiting for the refund because Best Buy refuses to let me verify the product before purchasing. So after buying two more 18TB HDD's I proceed to open then right in front of the manager. 1 of the drives was swapped while the other was new. I told them I am done and refunded those two drives.
