Thanks for leaving a comment! If you're already a qualified pharmacist in India: - Complete a one-year accredited Overseas Pharmacists' Assessment Programme (OSPAP) - Complete a 52-week foundation pharmacist training programme in the UK. - Pass a registration assessment administered by the GPhC. If you're not qualified: Normal route -> study MPharm (4 years in university) -> 52 week training -> GPhC exam

I would try to keep an open mind when it comes to different pharmacy sectors and maybe go over maths statistics, because this knowledge will really help you understand the numbers in research papers! Lastly get ready to work hard! <3

I think you acting correct. A Pharmacist has to think about half-Life, LD 50 and other important details. That's not always so funny and a reason to smile.

Pharmacists aren't on the OTC area as much here in the UK as there is so much to do behind the scenes, I tend to be on the OTC healthcare when my counter staff aren't sure or the patient themselves want to speak to the pharmacist.. also patient information and things.. it will probably be difficult but.. thanks for the suggestion <3

I enjoyed the video, it’s a throwback! I’ve left the industry now and I’m in tech but I’m tempted to come back as a PCN pharmacist or indeed as a community pharmacist. However I’d need to get my IP! What’s the landscape like now, do you think it’s worth coming back or staying and progressing in tech? Thank you!
@yangshua0130
@yangshua0130 3 ай бұрын
Helloo thanks for the comment! It depends on what you’re after I’d personally say. (If it’s money then stay in tech HAHA) If you’re missing the clinical aspect side of things PCN pharmacist is a great way to go. IP will be certainly be useful there. You can lead your own specialist clinic as a pharmacist too! Community is good because you’re very exposed and up to date with the medicine supply and you know what’s out of stock/in short supply. Also the most informed person to obtain medicines/services is a community pharmacist. This is a brief(🤣?) breakdown of the two sectors. Currently the pharmacy education is changing: MPharm students graduating 2026 (I think) and qualifying from 2027 will be IPs as they have a prescribing module incorporated into their learning. I’m currently doing a part time (2 years) distant learning IP+clinical course with Cardiff uni to skill up!

Depending on where you intend to work there is quite a lot of funding opportunities for the IP course if you look! My course is covered ☺️ the typical IP course is 6 months

How do you like being a community pharmacy so far? I'll be starting my foundation training year this summer and I am quite nervous of how it will all go! Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated : )
@yangshua0130
@yangshua0130 6 ай бұрын
Hi there <3 Community pharmacy is okay and I'm always learning a lot! Ahh starting foundation training how exicitingg I hope was uni was okay :> Hmm in terms of advice I will say these: 1. Make sure you get your annual leave and protected study time defined. Most employers will say your annual leave is inclusive of study time before the exam (i.e. 28 days annual leave = bank holidays + study time) , maybe if you're lucky you'll get annual leave and study time separately: annual leave (28 days) + study time (14 days for example). 2. Have a small notebook/pen at hand so you can jot down things throughout the day: about some fact you didn't know before, or topics you need to study/look into later when you go home 3. Work a 5 day week and no weekends.. you need that rest haha! (imo) 4. **Don't take what patients say personally**, because majority of patients just complain sometimes because they are just frustrated and the people that end up listening to that is us.. it helps your mental health in the long run. We can only do what we can do for them :)) 5. Ask for help when you're not sure! Best to look into something first before giving incorrect information/advice! 6. If you don't already make sure you know how to use adrenaline pens (it's really easy dw) and make sure you have some in stock. I've had this crop up a few times in practice and with this knowledge you can deal with emergencies more smoothly from my personal experience! (ask staff to call 999 first then use adrenaline pen) Sorry this ended up being an essay but I hope this helps <3
