Rusty is amazing. The OUTWORLD cd/album is some of my greatest drumming writing. Minus COTD, the rest we wrote together, Rusty, Bobby, Kelly Carpenter Shawn Kascik and myself. Rusty has always been very humble and just amazingly talented. I must say, I was humbled watching him, play at rehearsals every night we did. Rusty always just gushed over how great Shawn Lane was. He is right, Shawn has to be THE MAN. But so is Rusty Cooley. Rock on everyone, Listen to OUTWORLD and all the Rusty Cooley solo stuff and instructional dvd's and vids, you will not regret it.✝ P.S. SSebastian, walks in while his Dad; Rusty is videoing, notices he's recording and is like "OOPS!" Love that kid!

Increíble guitarrista!!! Un nuevo nivel!!!

Shawn could blow them all off the stage and they were and still are all legends. Technically he was ridiculously over all these guys, but as an ARTIST ... Gosh he was light years ahead of them . And they are all legitimate legends in their own right.

S H A W N ..... I mean. Like I think all of you, I know every great guitarist on the planet that ever was, in every genre, ... I think considering everything. He was the top dog. The top. And as a musician in general, his melodies his songs, ... he was just an unbelievable artist.

Further proof that many Westerners (media, channel, rock/metal news) actually kinda purposely ignore talent from the rest of the world, especially from country like Japan that has many established shredders with proven catalogue & portfolio. Just one name, one name would smoke everyone else in this list. Syu of Galneryus. Speed, feeling, great songwriting, neoclassical element, clean playing etc. 🤷🤷🤷

I'd say it was a tie, but Impelleteri has a certain magic about him, and a killer vibrato that MAB doesn't have

Kiko can play alot of different styles but he sounds like alot of players where as Poland is from outer space

Tim Henson probably technically as proficient and also Marcin.

Yngwie all the way. Romeo's technique might be more precise but it sounds duller. Single coil ftw

The winner? That would be the listeners because we could get to witness such people excell at what they do.

Both not from this world, hard to compare based on diffrent styles; But in the End (imho) Romeo is the clear winner, especially after his Divide and Conquer Solo-Project -what a beast on the frets!

Someone please help!! This last clip, where he's playing the Strat. He's using a green pick. Then he makes it disappear while he fingerpicks a bunch of notes and changes pickups. Then suddenly makes the pick materialize again. Where did he put the pick???!!! I can't figure it out. I tuck it under my middle knuckle when tapping, but it is nowhere in sight in this video. You can even see the inside of his right hand. Nothing!! HELP!!

I see comments about Matteo's shredding, but he isn't a shredder, he improvises and at his level, he is beyond many other players. He is unique but like Holdsworth, Matteo improvises and that is a huge difference.

This is a tough one. In my opinion, both players have an absolute insane command of the instrument. Both players know how to write cool tunes. Both players have killer tone, and really improved their phrasing over the course of their careers…yeah love them both. Oh man, I can’t decide! 😄
@g3shred64111 күн бұрын
Yngwie is an absolute legend…but Michael Romeo is far and away the better player. Better picking, way better command of modern guitar techniques, way better phrasing, better songs and WAY better tone. Michael Romeo is far and away the better player. Period!

Except for Frank's sweeps, both can do what the other can do, but I have to hear them doing the same tune, then you could make a better decision.
