Thanks for the question! These plants don't need to be planted 15 inches deep. They thrive in shallower soil.

I live a few hours away from NYC, they probably wouldn't allow anyone to make half of these items. Many require you to cut them and the easiest way to cut the tread area of the tire is with a grinder. When cutting them it smokes some and it smells like burned rubber. I make items out of the tires but I live in the country with lots of trees around to help clean the air.
