A lot of the “drag noise” simply comes from the strain on the idler pulley from that 90° angle. Also if it gets dirty at all, it will exacerbate that noise. Keep it clean and it will be fairly quiet. I also removed the lower pulley and added the Cascade Components Guid/bashguard. Less teeth contact, but it hasn’t been an issue and is much quieter.
@4KMTBRider6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the info, the pulley was much better if you kept it clean as you said and greased often. I never really had many issues with it to be fair but I do like a quiet bike and the idler pulley/guide is another complication. There's no doubt about how capable the high pivot bikes are though!

Looking good, the sound deadening you put on first works great, it really lowers the vibration noise. Also makes your sound system sound better as the panels don’t vibrate. Are you still using the air shock now? I just got a kenevo and it came with a fox DHX2 coil that instantly blew, either that or it just has stupidly light compression damping! LOL. I switched it for a Rockshox super deluxe ultimate coil and it feels fantastic. I don't find I'm bottoming out hard all that much either, I run a 500lb spring (i'm 84kg) and I do use all the travel up frequently but certainly not clapping the back end out. The rockshox coil is a 65mm stroke (stock is 62.5mm) so gives the bike almost 190mm travel.
@4KMTBRider10 ай бұрын
I have now sold the bike but continued to use the air shock up until the sale. I just found the air shock was more suited to the type of riding that I do mostly. Sounds like you tried a few different options and I think that's the best way to find out what works best for you. I honestly think that one of the newer type coil shocks with the hydraulic bottom out would be ideal for this bike. I think the new rockshox coil has it and also the EXT coil shocks. Might be worth considering if you do have bottom out issues in the future.

My bike did not come with pedals and in most cases bikes are not supplied with pedals. Size Large and I'm 5'11. I feel the size is pretty perfect. I would like the front end to be higher which I'm hoping I can achieve by fitting a higher rise bar and possibly a longer travel fork.
