Can anyone identify the first 'dirt' road at tbe start of the video? I know Wellingborough now but scratching my head at where that is? Thanks in advance

Just discovered and thanks so much for the memories - how narrow the streets are! Left Wellingborough in 1973 and lived in Little Harrowden, then moved to NZ in 1975. Last time in the UK 2003.

Wow,how Wellingborough has changed,not for the better I'm afraid. Carried out a lot of work in the town with local surfacing co R E Crawley of Buck End,off the Northampton rd back in the 80's, good days! Thanks for posting.

There is a video from 2018 to compare this video (as a tribute as well?) showing how things have changed! Lets just say for my job I have to climb telegraph poles, and some of them in this video are still there! In fact, at 3:53 on the right hand side, is a pole I climbed this week! (it was put in the ground in the 70's as most of these are) My highlight of the 'old' welli is the Woolworth's, Wimpy's (up the stairs in swansgate), the green dragon thing that you could crawl through, and even the old cinema!

Dear Tracy and Simon, I'm working on a series about Giovanni Di Stefano. He went to school in Wellingborough and I was hoping to use your material to illustrate the area. Please can you contact me to discuss [email protected]

How I remember Northamptonshire, when I first moved here. I hardly bother with the towns anymore....such a sad decline.

Hello. Would someone be able to help me picture how one entered and exited the multi-storey? I remember watching this for the first time a while back and my mind being blown the the one way on Commercial Way was the opposite direction. Was the entrance and exit to the multi-storey in the same place? What was the set up the other along Castle Way like? Thanks. x
@RandyuTuned9 сағат бұрын
The entrance and exit is the same as it is today but the exit you could turn left on commercial way to head back up silver street.

I was born and raised there but moved out 20 years ago. A great market town back then but was going downhill rapidly through the 90's. Now when I go back to visit family and walk around the place I realize just what a shithole it's become. A good video none the less and thanx for sharing.

Hats off to people who made these seemingly inconsequential videos back in the day, they have recorded a small part of history, wish I had done the same in my home town.
