Bahaha, i have 25 years of tools, a full size Scandinavian cabinet makers bench, a full shop in my bedroom. You have ten times the space i do. Proof that if you want it, you can do it anywhere.

Great video. Maybe give the actual dimensions of the shop? You have a private Jet? I may have to get that thing. Thanks and cheers.

Hi Sam Thanks for the tips! I keep moving machines in my shop, but it happens less and less frequent, so I must be getting close to where I need to....... I think. Love the video, your shop and the channel. Regards James One Handed Maker - Australia

hi would it be possible to use the foamboard but with 3mm primed mdf or plywood glued to the back of the foamboard maybe use a thinner foamboard in conjunction with the mdf or plywood your work looks fantastic especially as you do it by hand and not the cnc or laser

I have to disagree with you on the Rigid. I had a bandsaw break a small part, Rigid stopped listing the band saw and all the replacement parts. Tried reaching out, nothing. They've dropped so many products in the cold that I wouldn't buy their brand again for something I want to be able to maintain. Go Grizzly =)

Thank you for the great video. I got lucky and got several loads of pallets. I have them all cut down now, but I wanted to know, how do you store your pallet stock?

Sure, why not. That’s pretty calm compared to some of the things out there that pass for art. Not really any different than the dogs playing poker.

I was amazed to see you used oil based polyurethane to seal the wood around the pour. Does that work well for you? I’ve seen many videos where woodworkers will use the actual epoxy as the sealer. Have you tried that method?

New to woodworking. Where are you working from. I'm in Texas. I could really use a planer if you're interested in getting rid of yours.

Huh, kind of a mystery. Would say the glue had a bad reaction with the matte paint, but when the original layer of the board is coming off, that’s weird. Guess would be that the glue, paint combo is deteriorating the white on the board.

Yeah, came out great! Guessing you have a vinyl cutter hidden somewhere. Shame about the glass, I know how that goes sometimes. But you had a good looking frame all ready to go😊

A few thoughts- You are not using the space above your head. You do not need to watch a CNC in operation. See where I am going with this? My two CNC machines and 2 3D printers do not occupy ground level space. They do not need to. Want to watch it? CCTV is dirt cheap... Outfeed - should be an MFT. Both for tracksaw use and assembly. Power panel. What is not automatic (dust gates and extraction) can be voice controlled. Who wants to walk across the shop to put a light on? You do understand that the word ultimate means cannot be better, anywhere anywhen? Really? Also means you cannot ever change it- because that would be making it worse (by definition). Question- why do you limit yourself to woodwork?
@abm2399Ай бұрын
great video - opened my eyes on the drum sander. can it really replace a planer while also gaining a huge leap in efficiency during finishing stages of projects? I am mostly consider this question within the context of applying to hardwood live slabs for furniture - think epoxy tables, hardwood counter tops, and hardwood shelf and desk projects. Don't have a planer and considering eating the cost and just getting the jet drum you have. Thank you!

@diegoarmijo1426Ай бұрын
I didn't look thru all the comments so you may have already got this, but the swirl effect you're looking for comes from using the color pigment verses the dye. I do like the effect you got from using two color dyes in the same space. Great effect.

Great video. Nice small shop. I want to change up my outfeed table and got some ideas from yours. I tend to steer away from channels that pull out the Festool Domino or say cut some part on their CNC machine. Nice to see an honest opinion on your CNC.

Looks gorgeous! I don't think epoxy shrinks, but it does like to seep into the wood. So if the sealer wasn't fully cured it probably soaked up more than planned. Sometimes doing a light epoxy spread everywhere before starting the actual project helps. But it seems like you were able to fix it just fine with a light top flood coat too. PS it isn't food safe, so people should just use as a serving board and not an actual cutting board where they end up cutting into epoxy etc. But yeah, even as wall art, just beautiful.

I definitely appreciate shop tours that talk real about costs (what they paid & what it would cost now). I think that is so great. But speaking for many of us, we would have loved to see in your drawers. I enjoy seeing some really nice organized stuff, but I also like seeing what people have and how they set it up based on what they do/their skill etc. Planning layouts or seeing a better place/way to store something has been really helpful to me (especially in small shops). But yeah, this was my first video of yours so I will have to check out others to see what you keep in there. And I am definitely gonna subscribe just because of this video. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to checking out what else you have up. Best!

Nice job. To get the swirl effect as the epoxy begins to dry/stiffen take a toothpick in the routed areas and swirl away!
@BobBob-eh5sbАй бұрын
It came out pretty well. Yeah, epoxy does shrink. You have to overpour it a bit, or do like you did with the clear epoxy top coat. As far as the swirls staying, it’s a timing thing. Ideally catching it as it’s hardening, but your stir path will still settle. Of course that time will depend on temperature and humidity and does vary from brands of epoxy. If you have a little extra left over, use it to test with. It’s kind of a hit and miss thing, and the timing that worked one time may be off the next. Epoxy can be too much fun sometimes.😅
