Well, my addiction has been a lifetime. I started riding at age 14 on a Honda 90 and had a motorcycle my entire life except for the 2 years I was in the Army. I am 73 now and just bought another Suzuki V-Storm 650. I have owned 3 of these in the past 5 years and they are one of my favorite bikes. I still love to ride but most of my riding buddies have either passed on or are not able to ride anymore. Yes, I am still addicted and will keep riding as long as I am able.

I would not call them adventure motorcycles. There road bikes pretending to be dirt bikes. Trust me if you’re new to riding off road don’t buy one of those bikes you will regret it. Start off with a motorcycle under 180kg

There is a right way and a wrong way to stand on your bike. Too often, I see new riders "prairie dogging"-standing up and down awkwardly on their bikes. If done correctly, standing will be a bit tiring but more effective. Here’s how to do it right: Don’t Stand Straight Up: Instead, bend at the knees with your butt back slightly and elbows out, as if you’re doing a push-up. This position helps you stay balanced and in control. Foot Position: Turn your toes in slightly and grip the bike with your knees. This will help you maintain stability and control. Bar Risers: Many new riders think they need bar risers because they feel they can’t reach the handlebars. Often, once they learn the correct standing technique, they realize that bar risers may not be necessary (unless you ride a 650L-ask me how I know!). When to Stand: There’s no need to stand as soon as the pavement ends. If the terrain is easy and comfortable, stay seated to conserve energy. Stand up only when the terrain becomes rough or challenging. Many riders get this backward: when the terrain gets tough, they instinctively sit down, which can make control harder. Practice standing properly and in the right situations to improve your riding experience and efficiency.

It’s a literal rhinoceros on two wheels. Great for the open roads but definitely NOT an every day commuting bike. Forget filtering in town traffic and it is heavy under 20 klms trawling through traffic. A novelty machine at best that’s an amazing piece of artwork that you’ll soon get fed up with. I’d be considering second hand if it was an option for a second bike in my garage as the depreciation is atrocious. On my test ride I found the front brakes to be less than adequate.

I have had several crashes and I am turning 60 this year. Recently I had a severe concussion and bleeding in my skull from a drop going over slippery sand. For the first time I have to decided if I want to continue. Because I may not survive another impact to my head and yes I always wear a helmet. I didn’t expect to be at this point in my life but nothing last forever my bikes are in my garage and I yearn to get on them but when do we realize it’s not a good idea to do so?

The lack of dealer network is the only objective argument I find here really, which I do understand. Luckily I live in Europe where it's very common. I have 8 dealers within 100km

Rubbish, sitting down and taking your time, keeping your centre of gravity low, conserving energy and having a foot ready to dab in panicky moments is how gumbys should manage their ride. Fast guys stand up, they're fit and in tune, meerkats are a danger to themselves

Its just a very heavy, very expensive play thing for the rich guy. Is it any good, thats not the point, its German engineering and its an amazing quality bike. The Germans created the ultimate and largest boxer engine, at 1800 cc, and it can compete with the American Harley's on size, and price. However, for day to day commuting, yes, you can do it, but very impractical on the narrow, highly congested UK roads. You couldnt filter through traffic, not with those metre wide cylinders poking out! Great bike for the rich American, and the open roads of America, and California cruising

You lost me at, "we have singles, twins, and triples in the adventure world" - NOT TRUE. A single cylinder bike is not an adventure bike ... it's a dual sport ... but believe whatever you want to believe...

A two person side entrance tent isn't that much heavier or bulky than a one person. Its easier to set up your sleeping system in, and you don't have to be a contortionist to get in and out of it. And if the weather goes bad, you can bring your stuff inside, and there is more room in there while you're waiting out a storm.

I was aiming for Low Rider S, Street Bob and maybe Standard and Sport Glide wasn't even in my list until I actually went to dealer and test. The reason that Sport Glide wasn't in my list because Harley is doing their best to hide it from their catalogues and probably telling dealers not to promote it until someone asks for it. Luckily my dealer understood what I need and brought me to the kinda 'hidden' place in the showroom to show me the Sport Glide. It's an amazing bike except forward controls which are not for my taste and honestly, Low Rider S handling is kinda disappointment. Front end is way more heavier than it should be and in slow speeds or traffic lights it's definitely not fun to carry that bike. Which I also tested Heritage and that giga ass bike doesn't feel as heavy as the Low Rider S.

The guy is talking more into the camera while they should have used all that time to actually show the bike and the rider and what the rider was doing imho. It's already way too short to learn anything from (Half the video is taken up by the intro banter alone) and then all the action is filmed from afar as well which just makes the whole thing useless.
