My very first digital camera was the Konica-Minolta Maxxum 5D. I loved that camera.

I wonder how color clipping behaves with this RGBE sensor- For example the bright blue sky clipping to cyan at 7:08, how would that look on a Sony F-828?

That’s pretty smart. I use a QX10 for use on a 10m pole to take remote images where drones aren’t allowed

An SDQH is my primary shooter. I love it, the write times can get annoying, but when shooting raw x3f instead of DNG it's not as bad space wise. One of the more frustrating things for me has been lens selection. So many great lenses sigma has made for the APS-C sensor size that just aren't *quite* big enough to not have severe vignetting on the larger sensor, but that little bit extra you get on the sides is also very nice to have before you reach that brightness falloff
@HJN672 күн бұрын
Now put a 70-200mm f2.8 on it and see how practical it is. Size isn't everything. Usability counts more. And to those that say I just don't get it, after putting a lens on it and attaching a smartphone to it, It is not any smaller than any other compact cameras - Just more useless. The QX1 is from 2014 and they don't make them anymore. Wonder why.

I wish you would buy a K3 monochrome and to a tutorial on how to use the thing at 72 my brain can't get around the book. The same with the K3111.
@brianmccutcheon32052 күн бұрын
I started out with a K10D then K5 K3 K3 111 K3 monochrome K1 K70 and a couple of other K's. You know the K5 is still my favorite, easy to use, settings a snack and gives great photos.

i remembered seeing this back then. But i was in dslr land by then. The nikon d40 was ccd too. When I got the d7000 cmos the colors were flatter. Now when I bike I use the cotton carrier, can place my little nikon z30 or little panny m4/3 on my chest.

Why does Nikon sometimes use these weird periscope optical modules in some of their Coolpix cameras which also sometimes have extra low dispersion elements but always have vibration reduction?

I’m still waiting for Pentax to release a Q with a 1 inch sensor. Yeah I know they discontinued the line, but one can hope.
@Omgiamsotriggered2 күн бұрын
Literally pointless in this day and age. Sony and Xiaomi are putting 1 inch sensors in phones, a whole dedicted camera for the same thing just isnt sought after anymore. Realistically cameras are getting less and less popular as phones advance, so even MFT these days is becoming obsolete. APSC or FF are the only ones that are gonna remain sought after in mostly pro work.

I just picked up a QX1. It’s so much fun.
@gabl8a893 күн бұрын
I'm actually active user of Sony QX1, currently paired it with a 16-50 kit. What I love with this camera is the ability to take picture from many interesting perspectives utilizing your smartphone.
@cpl3663 күн бұрын
Does it require an app (Sony or otherwise) on your phone to work?
@gabl8a892 күн бұрын
@cpl366 You may use this camera with Image Edge Mobile apps on smartphone. It pairs quite well with QX1 and I think Sony is still updating the apps to ensure the camera works on today's phone.

This was my first Pentax digital camera. I came to it directly from medium format film (Pentax 645nII). I first used it in western Maui at the black lavascape coast. I was stunned at the true colors right out of camera. It proved to be the beginning of my flickr account. How wonderful to hear a discussion of this camera now. Good video.

I was thinking the same thing, I wonder it that was the idea here, would save a good chunk of weight on a star tracker for sure. Including the flash feels pretty funny for any application so I am betting an executive insisted on it.

Tell me more! I'm an Olympus Air owner (tons of fun, only m43 body I've held onto after switching to Sony) - I'd love to hear more detail about how practical the QX1 is as a shooting experience now with app support questionable. My gut is that an ultracompact MILC body (GM1 - a5000) is just a better overall package than the "displayless cylinder" family.
@skylark61674 күн бұрын
what a weird camera. is the air still usable these days? seems like so many app-dependent things end up unsupported and useless.

Too much software dependent for practicality. Might be look towards sigma fp instead.
