Many years ago I owned a KDX200 that I rode the hell out of. All I ever kept hearing was how incredibly fast the 125cc bikes were. Then I rode someone's CR125. I had to keep checking to make sure the wheels weren't stuck in mud.

Sweet! I remember my 1st Motocross bike A 1983 KX80 for my 10th birthday.. Then at 13 I got a 1985 KX125 then when I was 16 I worked all summer to get IMO the best bike ever a 1987 KX500 I called it the "Green monster"🤯 If you've never been on one then I recommend if you're experienced..I could do wheelies at 60+ in 4th gear.. That bike with the right sprocket would go over 100+mph🤯

A 500cc 2-stroke is the epitome of insane power. I will admit, I added 2 more wheels and about 200 lbs of weight (Suzuki LT-500R AKA Quadzilla) and that was a handful! I am a small person and I loved showing up at events and kicking that big bitc# over and watching the eyes of everyone around to hear that big bore sound and smell that Klotz race gas burning in the cylinder. I went to a twist throttle and immediately discovered that was a mistake. I actually lost contact with my ride coming out of a turn and the “deadman” tether shut it down. Watching him go around this track in (near as I could tell) in one gear brought back so many memories. Clutch? Nah, roll the throttle. No need to rev it up, it’s gonna make ponies from the basement to the sky. If he really really wants to explore what a 500cc 2-stroke is really about, I would tell him to find some really lengthy dirt roads and wind it up. The speed is nothing short of breathtaking. Throw a few turns in where there is no need to downshift, just ease the throttle off coming into the turn and gas it at the apex. Some Velcro sewn into the seat and into yer riding pants is definitely a plus. Ain’t nothing like it in the world!

500s will pull to the moon, alot of times u run out of runway before those bikes run out of pull. Ive ridden a CR500 and a KX500 and both are like that and scary as shit to ride at first. Gotta respect these bikes. 450s are easy as hell to ride in comparison.

she aint made for that, bro. Get her out in the wide open spaces, like the CA Mojave desert. I bet the 5th gear cog on that bike has 0% wear.
