Love mine. However when i received mine, the firing pin spring was bad and the firing pin would get stuck in the forward position, jamming up the cylinder. Had to send it straight back to Taurus literally upon receiving it. However, their customer support is awesome; sent it back and they fixed it. Haven't had a single since.

I am using reloads but that’s not the issue since the base of the brass doesn’t change. It’s just because the gate where it comes out of is really close to the same size as the base of the brass

Thanks for posting this video. I bought this firearm to keep with me on job sites I have a compact but it’s just not something I want to carry in the summer and when wearing a tool bag. In your opinion (I haven’t received it I ordered it to my local arms dealer) would it be something you’d use up close on a wild animal or a potential threat?

IMHO, no. The short barrel loses a lot of velocity and accuracy. I’ve rather have a 4” 44mag because that should cover everything up to some decent sized beers

@@JBJHonez that's good to hear. I know they had a lot of issues when they first came out, but I believe Taurus fixed most of them. I'm trying to decide between the Taurus 608, the Smith & Wesson 627 Pro, and the Ruger Redhawk. Smith & Wesson used to make great revolvers. But, their quality control has steadily decreased, while their prices have increased. Rugers are good revolvers, but they don't have good triggers, and they're overbuilt, because they use a different process to make the cylinders. I have a S&W 386 SC 7 Shot Mountain Lite 357 magnum from 2001. It's never had a single issue. It came with a nice fiber optic front sight, and it came in a locking aluminum hard case. S&E just doesn't make them like they used to.
@DDDYLNАй бұрын
@@JBJHonez I also like the ported barrel on the Taurus, as it mitigates muzzle flip. Neither S&W or Ruger do that.

Yeah, I truly love it on unboxing videos when the owner opens the box and shows the spent cartridge envelope,.......... and the owner's manual that tells how to ' operate ' the revolver,......... and my absolute favorite.......a close up of the cable lock that comes with the gun. OOOOOOOOO, I'm talking ' nirvana ' here ! WOWY, WOWY, WOWY !!! The very next thing, and I love, love, love it is when they demonstrate the difference between ' double action ' and, and ' single action '. I can cream my jeans every single time I see THAT demonstrated ! Oh yeah !!! Sorry dude, I do feel sorry for bursting your durigeable, but when making a gun/shooting video what America wants to see is shooting the damn thing responsibly and to see if the author can hit the broadside of a barn, not with ' pussy loads ', uh otherwise known as .38 Specials. No, put some f*****g magnums in that thing you big, burrly, man. And that doesn't mean BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM, BAM..........ETC., ETC., ETC. And please, please, please do not slam the cylinder full of ammunition into the frame of the pistol, for if you do that you are exhibiting yourself as a MORON.....and I will wish harm and mayhem upon you and your children.

jeez, so much misinformation in comments.. springs dont "break-in" by keeping them compressed.. a spring can stay compressed for 50 years, and still have same strength when released after 50years.. springs only wear and break in when compressed and released over & over & over & over... and this isnt your daddy shotgun, so dont use bird shot... it needs full power loads to cycle, full brass...

Awesome video and helpful information, bought a smith and wesson model 329PD airlite in 44 magnum and boy it kicks but the recoil is manageable for me, been looking to getting myself a 500 S&W magnum but they didn't have it in stock at my local outfitter store, but the 460XVR they did in the 8 3/8" Barrel model, so I'm definitely gonna buy the S&W 460 this summer for bear protection and possibly a deer hunting gun, as long as the ammo is not too spendy for the 460 and available but i like it can shoot 454 casull and 45 long colt.

I had a woman at the range with me the other day. She and her husband were shooting .22LR pistols I believe. I think they were new to shooting. Nothing wrong with that; the more people who enjoy our hobby and self-reliance, the better. And a .22 is a great first gun. Anyway, I start practicing with .44 Mag 240 Grain. When we were finished, she saw me in the gun shop and asks, "What in the world did you have in there?" I told her what it was, and she says, "That sounded like a cannon going off!
