I was 12 at the time and I’m glad my brother taught me the significance of this era of Big East basketball on ESPN.

This was the year Michigan stole the title w that cheap foul vs Seton Hall. Cuse probably woulda taken it all if Coleman wasn't nursing a bad back in the tournament.

@ co Hoya do you have to have to happen to have 2010 ncaa tournament frist round of 64 tournament 14 seed ohio vs 3 seed Georgetown by chance because I was trying to find it because I never seen the game on tv when it was it was tournament time they had a other tournament game on that day

I'm sorry, I don't have that afaik. Not sure that I'd have the stomach to post that debacle (from a Hoya-fan perspective) if I did have it.

The Capital Centre (then US Airways Group, Inc. Arena) in Landover, Maryland was near Federal Express Corporation Field. It had a funny looking roof. LOL. 😁😂🤪🤣🤭🙃🥴😳🙄🤦🤷👌 Also, it was just announced that Federal Express Corporation’s name on the walls of the stadium are coming off. They are breaking their naming rights agreement with the Washington Commanders. 👌

The Big East was so blockbuster that their coaches were household names
@rjam19743 ай бұрын
There were loads of household named coaches back then obviously the Big East ones but also ACC's Dean Smith, Lefty D, Valvino, Bobby Cremins, Coach K . Beautiful time. Each coach you knew their brand of basketball and the players they recruited.

I remember being young and watching this game. it snowed over half a foot at my house this day and I hunkered down and enjoyed this game. It didn't hit me until halfway through this video that this was the game that I watched that day. I had like a weird deja fu moment. I was like "wtf I have seen this game before"

I do too. I was a senior in college and I am a fan of both squads so every basket I cheered.

What a great time for Big East basketball. To hear the building that would eventually make him their favorite son booing Ewing was unreal. Chris Mullin was easily among the best players in the country. Walter Berry was another stud for sure.
