Holy shit. A bunch of grown ass men stumbling around the woods shooting calves. Apparently anyone can be a hunting “influencer” these days. Lmao

I grew up in Idaho. Never realized how awesome all the hunting and fishing is till I got older. It was just normal living for us as kids growing up in the mountains. school basically shut down for elk season. we hunted grouse with wrist rockets in the fall. It was a great place to grow up.

We actually caught this bear like 3 times in a tree that was like 45 feet across and it was hollow. I ended up Climbing it and looking in the hole. It was a big bear too. probably like 180 pounder.

I'm curious, do you need to pack your food into a bear canister for this part of the Idaho backcountry?
@AbandonOutdoors
@AbandonOutdoors Ай бұрын
It’s always a good idea to, even though there are only occasionally grizzlies in the area. we always hang our food and make sure nothing scented is in the tents. I have had a black bear try to get under my rain fly to get my pack before. Pretty scary stuff at 3 AM, 12 miles into the backcountry.

Thanks for this Vid - great stuff. I come out of northern CA and have never fished the Owyhee. Thinking of heading up first week of August. Do you think that is a good time to be on the river? Thanks again!
@AbandonOutdoors

August is generally good, has been a tougher year out there with uncommon high water but the water levels are starting to approach a more normal level now.
@patsheridan

@@AbandonOutdoors Thanks for the reply. Hopefully by August flows will have dropped to somewhat normal.
